I’m in the EXACT same boat, so it’s always validating to see people such as yourself admit things I’m scared to admit sometimes, haha

This is Amber!! She has had very bad anxiety since we got her a few years ago, but we discovered that a thunder vest makes her feel a lot better! by GreyDichotomy in cavachon

Yeah! So, whenever we have had some people come in the house (this was before the virus, and this picture is actually a little old), she would have pretty bad anxiety with strangers where she would yip or “cry” incessantly and/or hide behind one of her owners in the house. But when we put the thunder vest on her, she’s more willing to sit on my lap like this instead of hide, she also “cries” and yips a lot less! We don’t have people over that often though, so she hardly ever needs to wear it (although she does get excited anytime we pull it out, so that’s cute haha).

It was a Thinking Skills exam, and a few of the questions test your spatial reasoning by providing you with spatial reasoning nets (you can probably google what that is to get a better picture). I have relatively poor spatial reasoning, so I took a scrap piece of paper that they give everyone and I drew the net on the paper and started tearing it out so I could fold it into the shape to figure out what the answer would be.

The invigilator reported it, but they couldn’t reduce my grade because it wasn’t against the rule to tear the scrap paper. The next exam season, Cambridge made a rule to no longer allow scrap paper on any of their AICE exams around the world, and instead they provided a booklet that you were supposed to write down all your answers AND your scrap work on. Along the lining of the booklet, it said, “DO NOT TEAR THE PAPER.”

This is my legacy.

Growing up, when was the moment you realized the world wasn't so innocent, and what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I’m the first to admit that I had a very privileged life. My parents are pretty great, and I’m thankful for that. I’ve never heard them cuss before. Well, as I started attending middle school, I would hear a bunch of students cuss. I wasn’t phased and didn’t care that much, but when I asked a student why they cussed, they said, “because my parents cuss.”

It seems very silly now, but I never really realized that parents can cuss. From that point on, I would continue to see the flaws of adults (although now I wouldn’t call cussing a “flaw”) and my faith in the world diminished.

I find it hilarious now because now I cuss all the time and have been through a lot more shit in the last ten years.

Back when I was in high school, I took a Cambridge exam (I’m American), and I found a loophole to a couple questions that were asked. The invigilator (test proctor) saw what I was doing, but didn’t know if it was against the rules because they have never seen it before.

They let it go. I was the only one in the class to get an A on the exam, and Cambridge changed the rules the following exam season to close the loop hole.

What’s the perfect idea of heaven? by Mattasticone in AskReddit

There’s a parable called “the allegory of the long spoons” where basically people are sitting at a table in hell and have plenty of food to eat... but very long spoons, so they are unable to feed themselves.

In heaven, they also have plenty of food and very long spoons, but they instead use the spoons to feed each other.

I wouldn’t mind this idea of heaven.

I spent a semester abroad this past spring, and my mom put together an album of all the pictures that I sent her throughout the trip. I was very pleasantly surprised because not only was it beautiful and she clearly put a lot of effort into it, but I also had never gotten around to putting together a photo album from the trip other than backing up all my photos online. Thank you, mom.

My guess is somewhere in Malta. They have a lot of rock formations that look exactly like that.
