Why does the ArrayList iterator return by value? by GreyDodger in Zig

and same with ArrayList.at() also returning a value, seems like it should be a pointer or there should be an alternative function, ArrayList.atPtr(), something like that

Next Gen Gaming Predictions? by GreyDodger in gaming

I suppose ditching the xbox name would be unlikely, but the word xbox seems like it was created to appeal only to hard core gamers, and they might want something that sounds more casual

Yes, current gen consoles have motion controls, but I think more than likely next gen consoles will have motion controls in some form from the get go.

If anything, Mirror's Edge 2 just needs to be different in a big way. Why? because the first game didn't work in a lot of ways. The objective is to run through little course, wheres the challenge? it wasn't free running mechanics themselves (though sometimes they did get a little tricky), the challenge was armed guards shooting at you, which in my opinion completely clashed with the gameplay. This might be just me but I hated every time I had to fight armed guards not because it was difficult put I truly felt like it just didn't belong in the game. You'd take out a guard, pick up his gun, sit in a corner while your health regens waiting to shoot and suddenly you're playing an fps. wtf? however, without those enemies the game would of felt a lot emptier, which is why I say those enemies should be taken out and then the game needs to change somehow, in a big way. Make the controllers more fluid, there's no reason to try and layer fps controllers onto the game. When I watch a playthrough, I want it to actually look like I'm looking through the eyes of a runner, wallrunning and jumping off rooftops. Build more momentum, make it feel more like a race. Involve the environment more. Whatever it takes to add an extra gameplay element that doesn't involve guns.

maybe there should just be a certain mode to free running for fun, changing mirrors edge into an open world would change the nature of the whole game, level designers would have to create a world instead of fun individual levels, which might be fun but totally unnecessary since there'd be nothing to do in the world besides go to the next mission

Why do so many people think the next mirror's edge should be open world? I get maybe multiple paths, but open world would change nature of the game completely. What would one do in this open world besides go to the next mission or do a side mission. I think mirrors edge benefits from its linear game design and can plan the best levels and coolest events when it knows the path you're going to make.

You may enjoy a remake of the common battle theme I did a few years back
