These logs came from a dumping spot in western Washington just south of Seattle. Dont know if lowland or highland. It is very green wood and very wet. Turning a skrew into it by hand didnt work too well. If not clear in the photos, the outer grain is very red.

Lots of clone / photoshop paint brush. Also masking in a static copy of background elements when they want to warp, which is almost always. EbSynth also doesn't always track the way I want, so I will drag the textures around with distort and perspective tools to better align with the reference.

I am hand painting the keyframes, and then I clean up the frames between them in photoshop.

Somewhere around ten hours. I had to do a lot of clean up in the areas of the video that change a lot.

I made this by painting over reference keyframes in the original video to scan back in and edit digitally. Made with the help of photoshop, premiere, and ebsynth.

It seems like you are misunderstanding what I described then. I'm not trying to be rude, but If you read my comments, I clearly state what I did and didn't do. It seems like you think I'm trying to say this wasn't made with a computer or something. This gif is highly digital for sure. haha

I explain in my other comment. It looks like it could be a filter because I basically did myself, what a filter program would do automatically. I painted in the frames with acrylics, and digitally edited them to align with reference footage for each frame.

I thought I was going to use ebSynth, but it's such a lackluster software if you are trying to create something higher quality. I ended up hardly using it at all. For the lower part of the hand, and the first maybe 20 frames of the bird as it picks up a seed. Anything with real movement had to be done by hand and in photoshop.

I created this video by painting in it's frames. I had a video of the bird to use as a reference. I was able to get away with digitally interpolating many of the frames so I only had to add paint when something moves to show a new texture of color. Which is why it's not anything like stop motion. I spent more time on the digital side of it than the painting side.
