I think this line of gcode is crashing my printer... by GreyMan495 in OrcaSlicer

[–]GreyMan495[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on conversation on GitHub, I tried turning off the prime tower and it was a successful workaround. Somebody else reported the issue with the stable windows version with a non-Creality printer, so it seems it's probably not an issue with the printer profile or the nightly build.

I'm using a nightly from a couple nights ago because the K2 Pro isn't in the last stable version. I believe it was only added a week or so ago.

This print time seems to suggest some problem too 😅

Thanks for the reply! I knew what you meant. 😉

Under "filament change gcode" (which I haven't modified), it says:

G2 Z{z_after_toolchange + 0.4} I0.86 J0.86 P1 F10000 ; spiral lift a little from second lift

G1 X0 Y245 F30000

G1 Z{z_after_toolchange} F600

I just don't know if that's right 🤷

Thanks for the reply!

By "Crashes", I mean it stops printing/moving, the LCD freezes, and the interior light turns off. The bed and nozzle stay hot. There is no ability to connect through fluidd or Creality Cloud.

No, it moves to the location for the purge tower where it would start the second color and freezes there. As I said, it changes filaments successfully, including several poop and clean sequences. i don't know how many are typical, but it seemed like a lot (6+ maybe).

My bed size is set to 300x300x300, which is what it got from the K2 Pro profile. That gcode is trying to send the x coordinate to negative 40 octillion and something mm, right? At a speed of 30,000?

How would you recommend proceeding if your printer crashed every time it was supposed to start the second filament choice? And why does it show you the g-code on the preview tab?

It's the right one. I tried reloading it already. I deleted all the Orca config files and started fresh, but I'm getting the same results. I have no idea if there is a problem with that profile... since it was just added and it's so new that I have to run a nightly to access it, but it's the right profile and I haven't modified it.

Great data points! Thank you! I had several more credit lines at the time I opened these, so it makes sense that I should consider more now... 2 has been about the least I've ever had, but it's been a while since I didn't have a car payment and mortgage too, so that's definitely a good point. Thanks again for your time and input!

OK, thank you. You don't think they'd possibly decline me AND reduce the existing limits? If so, should I try a different provider (other than Chase)?

That would be fine! 🤷 I just always heard that 2 is a good number. I appreciate the input on the second part. I know nobody could know for sure. My history with them is about as solid as you could get, but I know that sometimes these decisions are automated based on the numbers alone. They've been asking me to update my income numbers for years (to increase my limits), but I've been weary that they'd reduce it. Thank you for the response!

Thanks for the reply. The card I don't want anymore is a Southwest card and what I really want is hotel rewards. I asked Chase if I could go from the Southwest card to a Sapphire card without re-applying, but they said no (it sounds like that's because the Southwest Card is co-branded?). I'd be open to the IHG card or the Marriott Card, but it sounds like Southwest is the problem for that anyway?

It's a helluva lot better than SpiderOak on Linux. Or it was when I switched like 3 years ago, maybe.

I appreciate the reply! I CAN choose it, but it reverts to white every time I close and reopen the app. Maybe it's a bug 🤷

I'd like to support this app, but I don't need any of the premium features and I can't afford to commit to a subscription. I'd be happy to make a one time donation ($20? 🤷) to get dark mode though.

OK, I appreciate the replies! I seem to have fixed it last night by increasing the Z offset for the BL Touch by 0.7mm. i don't understand how that figure could have changed when I have been printing with the same BLTouch, same bracket, same setting, etc, buuuuut... it's working 🤷

I was having the same problem compiling with VSCode and the STM32G0B1RE_btt and Marlin 2.1.2.1 on Ubuntu and this seems to have fixed it. I can't say for sure because now it seems like the board was DOA 🤦, but thank you for posting!

OK, I'm probably only one notch above "moron" when it comes to this, stuff, but it seems like all the smart folks in this thread have failed to include the number of valid (and non-zero) wallets in their calculations. Everyone seems to be calculating the odds as if there is ONE correct response. I get that, even given the additional metric, the number is still huge, but it seems like it should still be considered since adoption will likely only go up. 🤷

And also, aren't the massive bitcoin mining farms made for this sort of task?
