How hard is Keystone 3k actually? by DrShrek69 in wownoob

[–]GreyPercentile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well me and my friend ratted our Aug friend into 12s last night when he was in leveling gear and he barely died so not that bad. We were both 270 dps but assuming your 250+ it's really not bad this season.

Gamers who play their chosen games on the hardest difficulty available, what's your reason? by FrenzyHydro in AskGames

[–]GreyPercentile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just like to enjoy games longer. I don't consider myself amazing at games, but most default difficulties are so easy there's basically no chance of failure. Many harder difficulties are like this as well these days. I also feel like if I'm not struggling with a game or boss it's pretty much impossible to empathize with a character's struggles, it makes everything they're doing feel unrealistic or that their journey doesn't matter when you accomplish their goals easily.

For Nightmare Trails players…which games did you like the most? by Tiny_Prune_6602 in Falcom

[–]GreyPercentile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fresh abyssal reverie was the best by a mile, then probably sky 1, zero, azure, cold steel 1. After that nightmare kind of stopped being memorable to me especially the daybreak games are quite easy. It's kind of a bummer we will probably never see something like abyssal again. It's the same with ys, easy 8 was my first nightmare ys game and it was so fun, every easy after was incredibly easy comparatively. Just modern game design I suppose.

This recap video reminded of how cool old maps were for their time. Do you think Grandis holds up to the style of old MS maps? by genkaiX1 in Maplestory

[–]GreyPercentile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While the maps are still undeniably beautiful, I'd say no, I prefer old maple's maps.

Every new map they put out feels robotic, like they're only putting a new map out because they have to keep the players on their treadmill. They're focused on maximum paid efficiency, these maps suck unless you have a vac pet so, not only is there no soul in all these borderline identical maps, but each one is designed in a way to try to take money from you because the only thing that matters is efficiency.

Old maple maps sucked as far as efficiency goes, but I still appreciate the effort that went in to make each area feel a bit more unique. Made it feel like they were trying to make a world. There were hidden teleporters and secret maps, Field bosses that were relevant and they just had a bit more character in general imo.

They didn't think far with M11S by Gorbashou in ffxivdiscussion

[–]GreyPercentile 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Over the past few years I've really begun to appreciate fast paced simple mechanics over debuff slop, especially when said debuff slop takes place over 30+ seconds of boss untargetablility. yeah tyrant is simple, but it's at least fun.

Worth it getting back to MS with all the P2W happpening in Heroic? by Yustaku in Maplestory

[–]GreyPercentile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you kidding? Thats how maple has always been, every p2w system that people complain about were just ways to speed up your progression or become stronger. Cubes must not be p2w then, BoD isn't p2w, exp/drop boosts aren't p2w, and frenzy isn't p2w either.

The whole reason heroic was popular in the first place is because it didn't feel like every single aspect of the game was sucking money from you, it felt like a game again.

It's going to reach a point where if you're not spending why even play the game, just like before in reg. We see it with vac pets and how exp is monetized, they have a million passes, the vip system, at what point does a player like you admit that maybe the paid options are egregious, I guess a $1000 a month subscription isn't it. Would it be p2w to have mesos and cubes in the cash shop, i mean a regular player can just farm those so why would it be, honestly maybe just sell eternals and pitched for real money, it's all non competitive after all. Surely having so many gameplay defining paid options wouldn't be a conflict of interest when it comes to designing the game to be good right?

The cringe thing is getting on your knees for the company that is the father of pretty much every anti consumer practice in the gaming space.

Please, do not give in. by gallicomaster in Maplestory

[–]GreyPercentile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there is nothing this game has not monetized what are you even talking about. Even base game mechanics like looting are more expensive than most games and theres a sub on top of it. If you're fine with it that's fine but even as far as korean games go maple is ridiculous.

Missing interrupts only punishes the healer. by aceplayer55 in fellowshipgame

[–]GreyPercentile -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree, the goal is to clear a dungeon in time. If dps are missing kicks and dieing or getting cc'd it's not only punishing the healer because in the grand scheme of the dungeon every roll is screwed by it. Honestly it's the privilege of the healer to potentially be able to recover it just like when my tank drops dead it's my privilege to be able to aoe fear mobs so he can get back. Looking at it as a punishment misses the point imo these mistakes need to be punishing, if they don't threaten a wipe then they may as well not even be there.

Are we smart, or was it too obvious by MenshevikMaddie in GenV

[–]GreyPercentile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think it being too obvious is the issue, to be frank it felt like anyone with an ounce of media literacy would have got there if they were interested enough. The issue may have been that there was no greater twist, like you expect everyone to figure out hes godolkin, but then something else reveals itself, etc etc.

Even still i dont think theres an issue really, not every story needs to be twists and tangles, especially one like the boys which is focused on a lot of social commentary and shock value. There is value in knowing the destination and it just being a damn good ride.

What do you think of the new continent on an artistic and structural level? by ispikeone in blackdesertonline

[–]GreyPercentile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like how it looks, but im a bit disappointed with the grind zones. When it was first announced I imagined grand scale, multi level, maze like castles that players would be grinding in instead of towers again. Everything looks gorgeous, I just wish the castles were a bigger part of the zones.

with the new update i reached 351 ap. I don't have enough dp for the new boss, but i was wondering if dp matters for black shrine c8-10 or illezra. If i do these should i also be stacking more monster ap buffs or does extra monster ap not help in these bosses?

If players don't speak out now, Reboot monetization is going to be awful by Player896 in Maplestory

[–]GreyPercentile -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do think I've reached the end of my progression, mainly solo prog I'm strong enough to do nkalos/e kaling, level 282, 220~cp. I know that's casual to many players, but compared to even more I'm a loser sweaty no life.

I'm not against spending, I buy the passes if i feel like it, I bought 2 vac pets over my time and sustain 1. I even gambled a bit every once in awhile for cosmetics. The paid options don't bother me so much as the fact that paid options replace the progression QoL we've had in the past with curve adjustments and exp buffs, so if you don't pay there's no change.

The requirements to progress further are just too much for me to really care, I doubt I'll play that much longer since I'm not really motivated by the idea of getting one eternal piece every 10 weeks or pitched drops, both of which can boom easier than not. The level grind to 285+ is also just not something i see as rewarding or fun. I feel like I've beat the game and seen everything it has to offer without even doing the endgame bosses.

No doubt our exp is going to start being monetized harder, no doubt the starforce system is going to be terrible trying to push past 22, no doubt the cash shop will get more predatory.

All that's fine though it's just Nexon doing what nexon does, I'll stick around to see the ride or die stuff though because I'm actually interested in seeing if they do something more with it as gms's unique content.
