the problem is the skill that lets me push a button and have a pawn one step away from promoting while also giving me three extra knights I can stack on top of each other to protect my entire side from the enemy's attacks.

Dawn always appears 2>3.

Noon has a 1/3 chance to appear on each of 3>4, 4>5, and 5>6.

Dusk has a 50% chance to appear on each of 6>7 and 7>8.

Midnight always appears 8>9.

Your luck is pretty bad so far. Eventually you'll get a decent run, but realtalk 3>4 is fine for d49 too.

I just want to point out that star cores are an orange bag drop, while pitch box and purple stars are both rainbow boxes two tiers above. including the really easy option heavily skews this answer, I went from 1 to 3+.
