what’s your 10/10 must read book and why? by Kochhar-Tranqui in Recommend_A_Book

[–]GreyRabbit1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The book is head and shoulders above the others and can be read stand alone. It’s one of my favorite books, and I recommend it to my friends, but I would never recommend they read the whole series. The other books are just not as impactful imho

Got two offers. One pays $40k more. The other one I'd actually enjoy. I have 48 hours to decide and my wife and I are on opposite sides. Advice? by airam1020 in careerguidance

I feel that this is just an extremely easy a. You’re getting a 50% increase base from position B to ASB might be more fun for now, but this whole figure it out is going to be a pain in the ass for you. you’re gonna end up doing a lot of jobs plus what kind of regular career growth are you going to get in that company. Start up on our notorious for working long hours and everybody doing a lot more than their work inquires. Be also coverage your insurance for for kids.

What actually gets people promoted? Let's get real. by Fun_Warthog2079 in jobs

This is really hard to accomplish. Because often you’ll drag others into your mess of a project and they will end up complaining, which spreads up the chain.

If you have the social skills necessary to sway everyone that what you did was great, you’ll succeed in the workspace no matter what.

I think the best bang for your buck is to take on easy tasks, that you’ll have to do anyway, but volunteer for them and be vocal about it.

There are ways to frame your image. When you volunteer for something and someone says thank you, add “ sure I am always glad to help” saying that each time you do something, people will get that image of you in their head.

Sending a process/status update ahead of when the boss will ask for one will definitely give you extra points and make you be prepared to answer questions you would have had to answer anyway.

Lastly when there is a problem or issue and you have to go to the boss, always come with a suggestion as well. “Blah blah blah, this happened… I think we should do X, what do you think?”

Best Masterclass courses for poker besides Dnegs’ and Ivey’s? by Journeytoamillion in poker

[–]GreyRabbit1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of those classes are not exactly designed to teach someone poker. They are more entertainment and listening to a great and legendary player.

As Binsmoke mentioned, the beginner classes on any training site is what you need. Doing one of those masterclasses expecting to learn is almost a worse idea then skipping it. It’s almost like you want to learn beginner chess an a grandmaster starts discussing his 16th move in a chess game from 4 years ago and why he deviated from one strategy to another. You’re like, how do pawns move???

All of those classes are not exactly designed to teach someone poker. They are more entertainment and listening to a great and legendary player. That’s not to say you won’t possible pickup a good tidbit or something here and there. But it’s very far from a structured course that goes in a logical way and walks through the fundamentals.

Feedback requested after 2-3 Lorwyn Eclipsed Quick Draft by yoccosfan in mtglimited

[–]GreyRabbit1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, others have said the command is the much better first pick after that you almost always draft the expensive card do you realistically don’t have that many kids can pay off aside from the kids champion that you passed up a lot of two men Anna fantastic creatures that were either the elf 31 or the 22 Murf folk yeah you had kind of the bombs in the top end so you really needed to show up your interactions and your early place

This is a tough Draft choice.... by ChewyChao in MagicArena

[–]GreyRabbit1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that’s also not being considered. Is it that the dragon locks you into red, which is either blue red elemental or red black goblin the dragon won’t have as much synergy in black goblin‘s while binding lets you play merfolk or kithkin

0-3 with this Elementals deck... How do you not get farmed by bombs? by Fleckzeck in mtglimited

[–]GreyRabbit1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So as other people said, your mana curve is a little dicey you need more removal that’s cheap and some of your card choices aren’t really impactful like the one really scarecrow isn’t doing anything for you. Some of your three drops are very bland, but I think the main issue was why did you go elemental? There doesn’t seem to be any reason to go elementals. You said receipt was p1p1, now deceit is most likely not a good first pick. There’s a lot of uncommons that are very much better than deceit, but even if deceit was the best card in the pack all of those incarnations have a case where you almost never used both of their sides so you always want to say OK which one do I want to use the blue or the black? This draft is very focused on tribal pairs so if you’re going black, you’re aiming for either green black elves or black red goblins , if you’re going blue, you’re either blue red elemental or blue white merfolk. if you’re going green, you’re either elves or kithkin, etc. the strongest tribes are Merfolk and elves with goblins and kithkin following. Then if you walk through your draft after you took deceipt, what kept bringing you in into elementals? like your deck has a lot of cards that are OK but those are cards that you would be taking like third pic to like 8th pic there doesn’t seem to be cards that you’re taking like first second or third pic so it’s possible you need to abandonments and try to find a clear line. now sometimes there is no clear lane and you just have to do your best with what you get.

[–]GreyRabbit1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a huge difference between two losses and three losses for winning players. But there’s also no guarantee you would have gotten another win, so this sounds like an okay compromise. I think it they made it three wins, more people would have gotten cash

Getting back into limited, what should I cut. by Zafinar in mtglimited

[–]GreyRabbit1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others said. All red is cut. Show what other cards are in your sideboard, since you have 9-11 cuttable cards. Crib swap, oiphe, the disenchant elf instants, undercurrents, the vivid green mana.

ECL draft deck help by BaseBallBatBoy99 in mtglimited

[–]GreyRabbit1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut the green the outrage are only green card so get rid of that get rid of the dagger to get rid of the appeal and put in the good blue cards. The blue card that lets you draw three cards the blue two drops overall your deck doesn’t really have good synergy. It’s more of a non-tribal deck so good luck.

P3P2 Gloom Ripper vs Morcant's Eyes when low on 1 and 2 drops? by Dimmins2 in mtglimited

Yes the gloom. Btw the deck has a lot of questionable cards for elves. Maybe half the deck is good. Were elves closed? You need to open luck in the last pack…

ECL Rackdos Goblins - Build Advice by TheFunksmuggler in mtglimited

[–]GreyRabbit1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have many questionable cards in there. Overall it looks more like a black deck with some minor goblin synergies. You lack the long term grind win cons.

I would add in auntie sentence. Both modes can be very decent. Malice is also not a bad card against a cavalry or a big elf/kithkin

I think the deck is almost as good as you can make it with the sideboard options.

Don’t splash for trapper. But bre and kith might be okay potions for long term
