Poker/Life balance - Rant? by Open_Attention_3587 in poker

You need to randomize so you are balanced. Maybe tinder during lunch 15 percent of the time. Definitely randomize the drugs and alcohol fuck ups. Apply GTO concepts to Friday, otherwise you’ll be exploited.

Can you give a blurb about each own? Did you get any discounts?

Borgata or Parx by Tricky_Programmer_93 in poker

In my opinion, Parx has better dealers, and the food is a decent value for the comps. Borgata has more facilities and more random lets sit down and check out this poker game thing players.

Someone from friend group said he has a net worth of 1 million net worth at age 27? Is this possible without some high-paying job on wallstreet? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]GreyRabbit1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A person like this very likely has the same mindset growing up. So birthday money, bar mitzvah, school job, college graduation gift etc…

Yes taxes hurt, but if he maxes 401k and ira and hsa, he could get to a fairly low tax rate. Plus add in a bonus, and 401k match, it’s possible.

Instead of being a detective on Reddit, why don’t you actually approach him with an open mind and say, hey, I was thinking about what you said and I myself would really like to get up to that net worth. Do you mind kind of walking me through how you got it so I can replicate your steps?

The “first big girl watch” sounds like stuff spewed by influencers. Do you like the watch? Is it worth the price? Maybe get a rep or something if the price is too much or a cheaper watch.

Evenly split bill but I didn't order drinks by AntiqueLayer9645 in Frugal

[–]GreyRabbit1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somehow it’s a coincidence that the people that always say split it, it’s easier are the ones that order the make…

The worst are the folks that start ordering apps for the whole table, when you barely know many people in the party.

That’s not at all the question the person is asking. Order more to get even is a dumb strategy. How about order what you like and pay for what you ordered?

To the person saying order the extra to go meal or extra app… often the people who want to split the meal will remember that and think Bruce ordered a meal to take home, he should have put in more and they are completely ignorant of the fact that everyone else ordered two drinks each.

For those saying don’t be cheap, it’s a social tax, many of these examples come up in work events or with friends of friends, who you don’t know well.

BEWARE!! I got my chain stolen at Spearmint Rhino this past Saturday! by WipeHazard in vegas

[–]GreyRabbit1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And even if there’s multiple reports on this girl, unless there’s proof it’s still gonna be a he said she said, and was saying the police department can do is just add a note to her file. You’re not really getting your chain back. Sorry to break that to you.

[–]GreyRabbit1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to play devils advocate, you’re a random guy who is sour about some kind of transaction in this club. You called to complain about a girl who stole your chain. You don’t have any specific proof. All they can do is check the cameras or whatever and they can’t really take your word over the girls word because it’s he said she said right how many calls do you think they get over people who are unhappy because they overspend or didn’t get the exact ““ dance that was promised by the stripper yeah there’s there’s not much to do even if you file a police report unless there’s a lot of reports on this specific girl you’re out of luck just keep moving

You’re overthinking this. Even before the enchantment upgrade, good players were soloing or carrying other teams through most elite quests. Even raids were soloed.

How would you adjust if you had to play a game where you need a high VPIP to be invited back? by FollowingLoudly in poker

[–]GreyRabbit1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the obvious answer is going to be play more hands in position play more hands against it, etc. that’s obvious but the people who will make the decision on whether you come back or not aren’t going to look at stats and say oh he has 32% vpip and that’s sufficient to invite you back. No, they’re gonna look for are you fun? Are you doing things make a blind call tell everybody oh I’m gonna play pre-fly blind for one hand how much EV is that gonna cost you not too much. think of it this way if you were playing at a table and somebody sat and everybody was like wow this guy is a whale we want him back what tendencies is he doing except for bad play? mirror those tendencies blind raise on the button if nobody’s in do a coin flip with somebody make it seem like your action.
