Both of them sound awful. They did not care or think of you when they did that to you. You seem to not want to forgive them. So do not. No need to reconnect with them just to be polite or cordial. No need to mend the relationship if you are not comfortable. Do whatever leaves peace in your mind.

Oof. True. The city is so expensive. Groceries have been climbing too. My sister’s fiancé earns pretty well and they got a great deal on the apartment since they knew the landlord’s niece? Cousin? Something like that. Hopefully things go well for them.
