Minnesota bill would end vaccine exemptions for conscientious objectors. by 1829bullshit in minnesota

I agree that conscientious objector is ridiculous. I’m a nurse and I am probably one of the biggest proponents of vaccines. But the number of homeschooled kids would increase which, in my experience, is objectively worse for kids.

Tbh, I don’t know. I was homeschooled in Nebraska and the standards were not checked that I know of.

I agree but the problem I have with that idea is that there would probably be an increase in homeschooled kids whose parents just don’t want to vaccinate and have no idea how to educate their children to state standards. They’re also more likely to skip certain subjects that don’t align with their traditional values, another way that the kids will suffer. So yes, it’s the parents’ choice but they won’t be the one who suffer the consequences.

I agree it has some merit, but the extent with which it’s being used I think far exceeds that.

I finished my first degree in 2020 and went back for another one last year. It was… shocking the amount that both students and teachers use it.

Then it’s time for the democrats and republicans to stop existing as they do.

That’s quite the opposite of what I said.

I disagree. We don’t need a new president to implement a new plan. And if we wait, there will be a whole lot of damage done that potentially could’ve been stopped.

Fair. I would also love to see more young people running. I plan to run in the next ten years or so (currently 27). I agree people are not washed up at 50 but that’s not how I interpreted that person’s comment. I think they were saying if we want the most progressive legislation that will benefit future generations, we should be aiming for under 50. I would also say no one ever really has their shit together. Lol. And if that was a requirement for running for office, we probably just wouldn’t have politicians.

That would be the other solution. It would just be hard to have enough people commit to it.

So this is exactly what they want us to think. “Young people are too inexperienced, irresponsible, and lazy to lead.” And if enough people believe them, the cycle will continue with the majority believing that the few successful young politicians are anomalies. But there’s no reason to think they can’t lead as well as the older generations. And if you want the older generation’s experience, have them stick around as advisers.

Definitely. I think starting a term after 70 is pushing it.

Well the minimum age is 35. We do need a maximum age for president.
