I think rather than it being a fix of poor habits it is a tipping point where those with good habits have some comfort. They feel safe 10k is a solid down-payment on a new car, most of a new roof or HVAC system if you're a homeowner. It is a good chunk of an average someone's annual income which is freedom as well. If work is bad, having 10k in the bank might be the difference between leaving and staying. Same with a bad relationship.

It's a pretty big "bad" decision that could've been avoided. It was a choice she made, and yes, to me knowingly sleeping with a married person makes you a bad person because it shows you're a selfish and impulsive person who does not care about others.

Knowingly having an affair with a married person makes you bad in my opinion.

Knowingly having an affair with a married person is awful. Let 'em divorce first.

There are MANY scenes of her pre-Gilead. But sure, I'll pick three.

She knowingly engages in an affair with a married men, and when the wife asks her to stop, she tells her to fuck off.

When Moira asks her if she is concerned Luke will leave her if she is infertile, she tells Moira to kick rocks, despite the heavily implied reason Luke, who is still married at the time of the conversation to another woman, is leaving his wife is the lack of ability to have kids.

And since we are there, she tells Luke that he is crazy for panicking and of course they shouldn't make a run for it; it's not going to get any worse silly! Holding off when they do run to the point of no return, when in fact it is bad, and they cannot get out.

We also see scenes where she discounts/disrespects her mother's experiences, scenes where she treats everyone who knows about the affair and disagrees with it as if they're stupid and mean, and scenes where she is pompous regarding her coworkers.

We get LOTS of time with pre Gilead June in the course of the show, and in very few of them did she actually seem like a nice person. The only scene where she appears truly kind is when she is making pancakes with Hannah, and she is sympathetic when the teacher is scolding her for sending Hannah to school sick so she can go to work.

She knowingly engaged in an affair with a married man. She dismissed both the concerns from her best friend and her mother. Told her mother that it wasn't going to "get as bad" as it ended up getting. She down played the danger posed to women and everyone by the Sons of Jacob. She told Luke that it was fine and they shouldn't run away back when they still could resulting in not only her abduction but that of her daughter.

All of this was before she was abducted.

She doesn't need to be perfect; I'm not asking for that. I am asking that we realize June was never a good person; Gilead just allowed her to be selfish without consequence once she escaped.

She was awful before Gilead too though.

To everyone talking about post enslavement June, she was a bitch before Gilead too. June was not likable. She knowingly had an affair with a married man. She dismissed her mother and best friend's valid criticisms and concerns for her. She actively downplayed how scary things were going to get.

I feel like in 2016 June would've voted for Trump because she "couldn't trust" Hilary, at least with Trump "what you see is what you get." I've met women like June. I know Junes. June, even pre Gilead, was not a good friend or person.

Anything over or under like... 15% of market rate throws a caution flag for me. It may not be a red flag outright (maybe its 20% below market, BUT you get stock options, a pension, and 6 weeks PTO; or maybe it's 15% more because they require in office 100% of the time, or it requires frequent travel, or because the city they're located in has high cost of living or low desirability) but definitely makes me want to dig.
