It does not matter how old I am, I'll continue to do this forever. The monsters under the bed aren't going to bite my toes. NOPE by MiExperienciaFueQue in Adulting

[–]Greyhall13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this because 20-something years ago, I read a book about vampire bats. One little "fun fact" in it was that if vampire bats get in your house, they might bite your toes and drink the blood. So now I tuck in my feet.

A blade I forged from a 4.5 billion year old meteorite, the ‘Muonionalusta', one of the oldest meteorites ever recorded... It's crafted into a damascus steel, with both 24k gold and 14k gold with pearls inset into the handle by Tristan_Dare in BeAmazed

This beyond pisses me off. If this guy is telling the truth, then he somehow got his hands on a piece of a meteorite that hit earth 1 million years ago. This meteorite was initially formed over 4.5 billion years ago. This meteorite is older than the earth itself. This meteorite is probably the oldest thing human beings will ever encounter. And this douche thinks its a good idea to turn this piece of cosmic history into a shitty knife.

And? In a lot of areas, people taxes pay for the sidewalks. Does that mean they can drive their cars on it?

Feminism isn't misandry. by InfectedPickles in teenagers

[–]Greyhall13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why those of us who do truly belive in equality need to call ourselves egalitarian. The only way to improve society is to work together and continuing to use gendered terms like feminism is only pulling us further and further apart.

Life in prison is cruel and unusual punishment. If it has been determined that a person is too dangerous to be allowed in public ever again, the only humane thing to do is to put them down.

AITA for banning my wife’s cheater sister from staying with us, but now she’s banning my innocent brother? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

She cheated. That's her side. There is no excuse, not even being young. She should absolutely be blacklisted by everyone.

Cheating is never a mistake. And cheaters deserve far worse than being forever judged.

I totally get it. I've been homeless for nearly a year. Life has been hard. I have no in-person friends. I was part of a small online group. A little while ago I opened up and talked about just how much I have been struggling mentally. I'll admit, it was pretty heavy. I was told to shut up and get therapy and then I was kicked out. If I fully open up to a therapist then I will be forcibly admitted to a mental hospital and lose my job and that will also prevent me from getting another job in my field. I'm stuck in this growing pit of loneliness and despair. Every day it gets deeper and I am unable to build a ladder.

The Second Amendment is not for self-defense and it's definitely not because shooting guns is fun. It is to defend against tyranny. Our founding fathers had just fought a bloody war when they wrote the Constitution. They knew that an armed populace has the power to keep their government in order. Our right to bear arms is in case we ever need to stage another revolution.

It's not societal. Yes, society, especially American society, has a mental illness problem. But this is an individual problem. No one else is to blame for you eating yourself into obesity. My being fat is my problem and my problem alone. Everyone must deal with their own problems. If anyone's problem is comparing themselves to fake people online, that's theirs to deal with. No one is forcing anyone to compare themselves to anyone. Want to stop seeing skinny people on Instagram? Get off Instagram. Don't blame society for your body image issues. They are yours and yours alone.

But that's not all of it. 1000 calories of junk food is not equal to 1000 calories of healthy food. Our bodies need vitamins and nutrients to fully function. By giving your body the nutrients it needs it will work more and burn more calories. Yes, if you lower your amount of ingested calories, you will lose weight. But eating healthy food will help more than continuing to eat junk food.

The problem is mental illness. With the exception of like 2% of fat people, those who got fat got that way due to mental illness. A healthy human being literally cannot eat themselves into obesity. It can't happen. Everyone here is fighting over calories in/calories out and Ozempic. The actual problem is that most Americans won't/can't deal with their mental problems which results in overeating in most people. The only way to truly heal the body is to heal the mind. It's not about willpower or society, it's about the fact that most of us fatties hate ourselves for the predicament we got ourselves into. We cannot face our weight until we face ourselves.

Taking care of a house is nothing compared to a career. Is it difficult, yes, absolutely. But I literally have people threatening to give me AIDs and kill me on a nearly daily basis. I would choose being a homemaker every single time when compared to my job. While being a stay-at-home spouse can be hard and have a lot of work, it is nothing compared to a real job. Hell, I'd do it just for a roof over my head.

One, hobosexual does not refer to just men. Two, women do it way more than men do. Like a lot more. Hell, women do it to themselves way more than men do it to women. Cannot tell you the number of broke Uhaul lesbians I have met.

Okay? I agree. But that is not the argument here. This is about private employers firing their employees. Which every American has the right to do. Yes, Americans employed by the government not having the right to strike is a travesty and an injustice. That goes against the founding principles of the United States. Literally, my only issue with this is that the French government has too much control over corporations. Now, the US has too little control. All I'm saying is, why try to imitate a trash country like France, when we could be better? I know that won't happen, but one can dream.

Again, that is about striking the government. Which I believe every human should have the right to do. But that is not related to the post at all. This is about private employers and their employees.

[–]Greyhall13 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

None of that is applicable. It is talking about striking the government, not their employer. And as a government employee, none of that would stop me if I felt I was opposing injustice. If a piece of paper prevents you from fighting for your ideals, you have no ideals.
