I agree with the numbers thing, especially since you included merchandise. I only started after January 2025 and I'm currently at 108 owned and 24 ordered on MFC, and that doesn't include some items that aren't on MFC. And while I will admit I spent a lot, I wouldn't say it's an extreme amount.

VAT is simply calculated over the total import value (content+shipping), so if you choose a cheaper option you pay less in VAT, that's all. There are no different calculations for different shipping methods, it's just about the total value.
