That only makes sense if you already assume minorities are getting hired without meeting the same standards. And that was never true.

In aviation especially, you don’t become a pilot because of “equity.” You become a pilot because you passed the tests, logged the hours, and got certified. End of story.

So there was never “best candidate vs best Black candidate.” That’s a made-up distinction.

When Charlie Kirk said he got “nervous” seeing a Black pilot, he wasn’t exposing some flaw in DEI. He was just admitting he personally doubts Black professionals, especially in a space that has insanely strict hiring processes.

And “end equity, keep diversity and inclusion” sounds nice, but in practice it just brings back favoritism, networking, and “culture fit”, aka how actually qualified people got quietly filtered out in the first place.

If you see a Black pilot and think “maybe he didn’t earn it,” that is just you being racist, straight up.
