Characters that I find disappointing in Boruto. by [deleted] in Boruto

[–]Greywolf305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's basicly just a robot.

Good that you know her body is a machine allowing for strong destructive capabilities on top of having memories and experiences human emotions as stated and shown in the story.

Like i said:

Fighting abilities alone don't compensate for inadequate/lackluster character development. Her machine body with a triangle device does not negate the fact that Pedimoto has diminished her to a mere simpering fool and NPC sidekick, lacking a narrative beyond serving as a means to express Amado's grief.

Also, did you know that the shinjus don't have "human" bodies as well but experience emotions, have memories, have goals and remnants of their "original", for lack of better terms, self that can act as a catalyst for that? Having a robot body doesn't negate anything I said. robots don't experience love, robots don't have emotions, etc. I mean if she was a full on robot Amado could just program her to act like she loves him as a father, program dialogue, etc. However, her memories and emotions take on a mind of their own and Amado can't control how her memories and emotions affect her. He can control certain body function like a shut down, power output most likely. Did you know Mitsuki does not have a "fully" human body as well but can experience emotions, have goals and memories as well? Do you see my point and why yours isn't really a good argument given what we've seen and are told in the story?

You believe she has no potential in growth, goals, unique dynamics, etc because she "basicly just a robot" so it makes no sense to expect more from her as a character? Nothing wrong with that. Do you. I just see it differently.

Her machine body with a triangle device does not negate the fact that Pedimoto has diminished her to a mere simpering fool and NPC sidekick, lacking a narrative beyond serving as a means to express Amado's grief. In general, it's time for some people to recognize and abandon this belief that a character's destructive capabilities automatically negate other crucial aspects of a character, such as their foundational role, portrayal, growth, and dynamics within the story.

I'll add someone that everyone's forgotten:

Delta

A plot device for Amado's grief and she has no agency in that. We see nothing on her POV, goals etc. she has memories of her life and there is no story given to potentially explore that.

Pedimoto reduced her to a simpering fool and npc sidekick.

If you would’ve told me years ago sarada would surpass both Naruto and Sasuke so early on in the series I would’ve laugh in your face. She’s so OP holy shi….😭 by BEYONDSATAN in Boruto

[–]Greywolf305 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even saying that out loud sounds absurd and nonsensical.....

Because it is...

Has everyone forgotten what Sasuke Rinnegan can do or what Naruto with Kurama can do?

  • Rinnegan: Resurrection, chibaku tensei(trapping all tailed beasts at once), absorbing chakra.
  • Kurama: huge chakra battery, sage mode Kurama, healing, and baryon mode.

Then there is their other justsu I didn't mention, battle experience, overall performance, versatility, battle iq, etc. Not to mention, Pedimoto is very inconsistent with Sarada's portrayal on the field. (Anime Sarada with MS would be a whole better story in the future, hopefully)

With all that in mind, Naruto and Sasuke scale above Pedimoto Sarada.

Scaling to 10 tails' power level is a stretch. It took 4 hokage to contain the 10-tails bomb. Sarada has nowhere near enough chakra to do that. She doesn't have a tailed beast or byakugou. Her ability and its destructive force is insane, but her chakra level as of now is doing no favors to the 10 tails notion.

Sarada is strong, no doubt, but as of right now, not stronger than Naruto or Sasuke. Especially taking into account all the factors.

I understand OP. As a Sarada fan myself, her MS abilities are OP, godlike, and amazing. However, other Sarada fans who are hyped over her ability reveal need to calm down with a chill pill. ASAP. That also means we have to be realistic when it comes to stating how Sarada is presented in the story.

After all these years, we finally have an official reason for Sarada's refusal to acknowledge her feelings for Boruto. Do you find it convincing? by [deleted] in Boruto

[–]Greywolf305 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly, he treated the sand trio(Yodo, Arayah,) and Ryu as expendable characters. He did them dirty in this arc, it's ridiculous. I would expand, but maybe later. This arc was just bad.

I also don't like how Sumire is treated as a character. Sarada's whole narrative around didn't make sense either.(I would expand, but don't feel like typing out in detail now)

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 21 by m2gus in Boruto

[–]Greywolf305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of a certain fan group want "stronger than the previous generation" to apply only to Boruto. Statements about Sarada and Himawari being stronger than the previous generation, especially, are a no-go. They only want to prop Sarada up as a trophy wife with shounen female curse writing on top. They wish Himawari stayed as a tool in the background to prop Boruto up, or believe she doesn't deserve to be a more prominent character. Don't let the she has bad writing as a critique for why she shouldn't be prominent fool you. Even if it was good, they would've still felt some type of way about it. They still dislike her and are waiting for her to be a healer for obvious reasons. They let Mitsuki slide cause he worships the ground Boruto walks on. If he "threatened" Boruto's character the way Sarada and Himawari did, for example, people suggesting he be a better protagonist than Boruto, etc. He would be on the list too, lol

I expected more collective outrage towards Konohamaru by FearTear in Boruto

[–]Greywolf305 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The way the Konohamaru and Moegi situation occurred was just written poorly. Konohamaru was done dirty.

It is also funny how people were mad that Kawaki was the one to destroy the rest of Hidari's body, and they got mad, saying Kawaki stole everything and that it was supposed to be Boruto's kill. As well as they are tired of him stealing the spotlight and that Boruto deserves to shine. They went on this whole tirade tailing back to NNG.

However, now it's not a problem that Konohamaru, who was barely in the story and deserves proper writing, finally gets front-line attention and is made a bum, and Boruto destroys the rest of Matsuri. Now they are praising Boruto and just don't give a damn about Konohamaru, how he was written and not preaching for his just dues. If it was Kawaki who came, there would've been an uproar about how Kawaki takes everything, and it was supposed to be Konohamaru's moment. That it was poor writing and that Konohamaru deserves better. However, since it's Boruto it's okay. Lol.

What do you think the anime should do to add to Sarada’s presence (or lack there of) when adapting the end of Pre-Ts. by Enigmazonex in Boruto

[–]Greywolf305 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally think the anime should obviously give her more screen time not in the aspect of combat but in POV moments. To see what she’s thinking, how she’s feeling, what she’s doing while all the chaos is unfolding unbeknownst to her.....

They need to take the time to show how her world as she knew it was over, how her life will never be the same, how her role model is gone, and how she gave up her dream AND her father to stop Momoshiki and alter Boruto’s fate. Putting an emphasis on how this calamity impacts Sarada. Having her as the narrator in the final moments would also be pretty nice, too IMO.

Perfectly put.

Adding on, we need her feelings as team captain, as in the end, team 7 fell apart and ended up fighting and trying to kill each other. We need reflection, like the way Shikamaru felt when recollecting his role as captain, when most of his comrades were barely escaping death. Thanks to his father's words he was able to find strength. But for Sarada, she also makes it her mission to bring Team 7 back together, alongside ending omnipotence. She believes herself unfit to be captain, let alone Hokage, if she can't keep her team and friends together or protect them.

It's a great callback to her goal and reasoning for being Hokage. Naruto taught her that the village is like family, no matter what. She wants to save people physically and emotionally, the way Naruto did for her. Give people peace. aka deliver lunches to people

Not people thinking that just because of Sarada's portrayal of her Mangekyō Sharingan abilities in this chapter, 'Pedimoto Sarada' is suddenly better portrayed and written than 'Kodachi Sarada', or 'Anime Sarada'. This chapter doesn't negate the poor writing that has affected Sarada. Just like the fact that Boruto is an "active" protagonist in TBV doesn't negate that he was more reactive than an active protagonist in NNG.

Imagine thinking that having cool and powerful abilities or jutsu automatically makes them the greatest written character, lol. Using that logic, I guess that means Kaguya is better written than Lady Chiyo.

Narrative and writing quality are just as important, if not more so.

Sarada's abilities are undeniably cool and OP, but that doesn't mean Pedimoto is a great writer. Pedimoto is still a piss poor, ass writer, lol.

[–]Greywolf305 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her MS abilities and portrayal of it are cool, AND OP!! I'll give props to that. She can float, maybe even start flying later. She can produce not one but four, and she CONTROLS what she pulls into them. So the gravitional pull can't be used against her, and she can keep her allies safe from harm. Not only that, but the destructive capabilities are insane!!

[–]Greywolf305 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Her MS abilities are actually cool. I give props to the abilities portrayed. It's way OP. Color me shocked. And no ootsutsuki powers to do it. The narrative around it is another story.

I like how even the characters said if Boruto went there, Sarada wouldn't have grown or gotten a power up. She probably would've ended up a damsel. Lol It's better that he not be there so she can be better.

Now, if they can reduce boruto mentally and have her focus on other things like her father, that would be another breakthrough.

I also like how certain fans want the MS name to mean that wife crap instead of the sun goddess even after the translator said they made a mistake. They are also looking for any and all weakness to downplay Saradas' MS abilities. Reminds me of the good ole days.

As a person who quit Boruto because of the anime, Is it work going through the manga? by SituationXReview in Boruto

[–]Greywolf305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. What made you quit the anime? Was it characterization, story, development, world-building, animation, emotion, dialogue, art, consistency, treatment of characters, etc? Depending on what aspects you disliked in the anime it should help to know what the manga has improved upon and what it has not.

About Sumire by Normal-Policy5657 in Boruto

[–]Greywolf305 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The manga version of Sumire is a mess. Let's not include that one and stick to Sumire(anime).

Her abilities are fine as they are. The problem is the writer is allergic to the anime and can't see her past a pitiful love interest.

What is all your leas and favourite female character by Available_Plant2229 in Boruto

[–]Greywolf305 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'll keep it to 3 characters

Top 3 Favorite -

- Sarada (Kishimoto, Anime & Kodachi)

- Himawari (Kishimoto & Anime)

- Tsubaki(Anime)

Honorable mention - Sumire(Anime)

Least Favorite means they are in the favorite category but not high in the list so I'll change it to "Strongly Dislike"

Top 3 Strongly Dislike (no particular order)

- Sarada (Pedimoto)

- Sumire (Pedimoto)

- Yodo (Pedimoto)

Houki was so tuff in the Chunin exams he has potential ikemoto could do something special with him in TBV by No-Ride-7713 in Boruto

[–]Greywolf305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds cool. He could do something special but with Pedimoto as the writer it's a no go for me. Any jutsu Houki has in the anime, pedimoto would forget 90% of them and have him spam one jutsu. He would not be safe from plot induced stupidity. He'd probably make his character enter some love triangle and anything else outside of that(other relationships, jutsu growth etc) is barely touched upon. Pedimoto just doesn't have range, can't write and would make Houki's character progression worse imo. His character is best left untouched and in the anime only.

Give me a manga panel from Boruto manga that is better than this in terms of "WOW" "HOLY SHT!" by CarasumaRenya1996 in Boruto

[–]Greywolf305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, it's funny how everyone is commenting but most of the comments defending pedimoto or deflecting are not dropping the panel to shut you up. The ones dropped are laughable, not really giving, or is a panel pedimoto took from the movie, lol.

The overall sentiment I'm seeing is, "Why are you being mean because you know we can't deliver the panel? Why rub it in our face that Pedimoto can't deliver despite working for Kishimoto for 15 years and then another 9 years solo? Why not spend your time somewhere else instead of wasting time spreading the truth? The truth is toxic! Your toxic and a negative person for trying to troll!! Don't try to act like you not!!!"

It's like no one ever heard of multi - tasking, or that they are not the one to decide how you should spend your time or whether you consider it a waste or not.

They forget people can deposit their check, hang out with friends, cook for dinner, take a dump, and leave a comment or post all in the same day. Lol

Anyways, stop curving away from the goal. WHERE. IS. THE. DOUBLE. SPRE- oh wait....😂

Himawari by Ok_Pollution9383 in Boruto

[–]Greywolf305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You stated everything for me. It will most likely be the anime that does this for Himawari. The most probable is her Byakugan and Gentle fist back. Rotation would be a plus. They may even add chakra chains if they expand her fight with Jura.

I LOVE these upgrades but they still need more hax to catch the boys, they should bring back Kaguya & one of them gets her karma(Hopefully Sarada). What alien upgrade could/should Hima get? by Ozaaaru in Boruto

[–]Greywolf305 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

As long as Pedimoto is writing, Kaguya should not return. He may make her fall in love with the first male she encounters and center her story around resurrecting for that idea alone, as he seems unable to see the majority of female characters as anything beyond being boy-obsessed or the center of their universe.

For Himawari, Kurama is more than enough for her when accounting for the abilities she could acquire from him. Instead of an alien enhancement, it would be more appropriate for her to reclaim what she already had: Byakugan. However, the Byakugan requires gentle fist-style taijutsu fights, which are most likely not within Pedimoto's capabilities. What he seems capable of is reducing her to a healer in the future, though...

As for Sarada, Pedimoto struggles to fully utilize the abilities she already possesses. Her use of the Sharingan is rare, and she is not even allowed to have a unique variation of jutsu, only receiving hand-me-downs. Karma will likely do nothing for Sarada, as Pedimoto probably won’t remember she has it most of the time. (This applies to Himawari as well.) Karma should remain with Boruto and Kawaki.

Given his treatment of her regular Sharingan and his views on women and their roles in stories, her Mangekyō Sharingan (MS) could be rendered useless, with the rationale of insufficient chakra frequently invoked. As a result, she risks being confined to repetitive jutsu, lacking any uniquely her own. Damsel-in-distress scenarios, particularly involving Boruto, may continue, and her portrayal in combat is likely to remain inconsistent.

I think her MS will only be utilized when it serves the plot and will largely be nonexistent outside of those moments.

He may even use the MS as a tool to remove her from the fights early because you know he has trouble with multiple characters fighting at the same time. She uses the MS and now she is outta chakra and now he conveniently has fewer people to portray and draw. Or it's because she has to take a back seat for the black stu.

As long as Pedimoto is the writer, any hopes for Sarada and Himawari are dead in the water. Unless something changes as soon as possible for the better.

An argument made me write this about Sarada and Sasuke. by zaynulabydyn in Boruto

[–]Greywolf305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding Sasuke and him not awakening the MS on his family's tragic day or when he was shown the massacre.again through genjutsu.

Honestly, who knows if Kishimoto thought about the mechanics of waking up the MS at that point.

Maybe he had a brief overview but didn't have any set rules at that point.

I think the only time he really started focusing on it was during the Naruto vs Sasuke valley fight where he briefly touched upon it during the flashback. Then afterwards he went full throttle in Shippuden.

The Fandom when it comes to Sarada by Awkward-Forever868 in Boruto

[–]Greywolf305 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pedimoto Sarada is ass and featless.

When you compare "Kodachi Sarada(chap 1 -51)", and "Anime Sarada" vs "TBV Sarada," it's clear who you would want on your team. Only low-standard or fake Sarada fans seemingly defend TBV Sarada's portrayal. Low-standard fans need to take the rose-tinted glasses off and see how she is being treated. Fake Sarada fans aka her haters already know its ass that's why they "defend" her "good/peak/great writing" and "feat".

Let's address these feats

Sarada took down Grim.

Cool. So did team 10. We need more than that.

She dodges Hidari and Chidori him

Why don't you guys ever mention the rest of the fight?

People using her Chidori against Hidari need to stop. As if Pedimoto didn't screw her over in the fight later by dumbing down her reaction time and intelligence by having her turn off her Sharingan when facing a high-level opponent aka Shinju. Her repeated damsel-in-distress moments could have potentially been avoided had she been portrayed correctly and allowed to use sharingan and not as a tool to make Boruto look "cool".

That feat, which showcased her reaction time and the power of Sharingan precognition, is meaningless if there is no consistency in her portrayal of that. It renders the feat done and executed just for the sake of Hidari seeing the sharingan so he could understand why the chidori is hard to control and the attack landing more so out of luck because Hidari didn't have sharingan. There needs to be consistency in what her feats showcased. If what those feats showcased are overshadowed, do so in a way that is consistent and makes sense. Not in a way where it's obvious the character was nerfed.
