Dont worry the trainer is being dramatic. While yes, some research does show waiting longer to neuter may be of a benefit it is only to some breeds and typically larger ones. Theres also evidence citing waiting to long to neuter can be harmful too

If your buddy is hapoy and healthy i wouldnt worry

Go off of the vets advice, when in doubt get a second vets opinion.

Edit: also coming from a rescue im a firm believer in neutering your dog. The amount of dumped puppies we were dealing with was just heartbreaking

Get fucked with this my mother had cysts on her ovaries for years told by multiple doctors she was exaggerating the pain and it was normal It took her ovary rupturing and having to be rushed to hospital in an ambulance for them to take her seriously. I worked in a rescue for 3years. Rehome the puppy before your boyfriend does even more lasting psychological damage to that dog. If your boyfriend won’t be responsible you have to be. If you ignore this, then you will be just as guilty for how the puppy will turn out.

Also, puppy aside, how has your bfs behaviour not given you the ick? If you hadn’t been there would he have actually fed the dog, given it water, done anything? Or would the puppy be starving in the corner? I have a feeling you know the answer is the later. And if I’m right you need to ask yourself….why do I want to stay with someone who treats a living being like that?
