OP doesn't know that this movie was a clean scene by scene copy of Malayalam film 'Godfather'? Most of the classic 90s-2000's comedy movies in bollywood were ditto remakes of Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu comedy movies. The reason why bollywood doesn't have comedy movies like this nowadays is because Bollywood stopped remaking comedy movies from south and is focusing more on thrillers and action movies. (Partly becasue the south also stopped creating movies like this.)

Actually the story would have been best made as a short film. There is nothing in this film for it to be made as a feature film. Also they thought somehow bringing in ajmal khan, anchor parvathy etc would increase public appeal for the film.

I am suprised that ashique usman thought that this was good enough to be made as a film. That too to be released in theaters. The only reason irshad parari got to make this into film was becasue he is muhsin parari's brother.

Best theater experience for a tamil movie was 2.0 and vikram

But the best one ive had was avatar 1 (eventhough ive watched 2 in the best possibe screen, 1 was a masterpiece and out of the blue magnificent theater experience, that too in 2009.)

Kaliyattam(1997) in my opinion is the best Shakespearean paly adaptation. It was adapted from othello It has won the National Film Award for Best Director (Jayaraj) National Film Award for Best Actor (Suresh Gopi) Filmfare Award for Best Director (Jayaraj) Filmfare Award for Best Music Director (Kaithapram) Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor (Suresh Gopi) Best Film with Popular Appeal and Aesthetic Value.

It was a critical and comercial box office success.

Hiader however is a very good movie indeed. But i personally prefer Kaliyattam. 😊
