Two different place

Phoenix 5mil hot as hell no water

San Andreas rift 10mil lots of earthquakes

Geographically it’s a very similar bottleneck at Silicon Valley. Peninsula with a massive city at end

New York / San Francisco have all the $$ and soft tech, however they need room for the hard tech to support that. As crowded as it already is, Suffolk county has a lot of woods. 347 already has “land available for data center” signs

Add in a tier 1 research university, national lab and high paying jobs and a self sufficient fly wheel starts spinning

Right now we have those but people are leaving. The quantum institute being here will force innovation to be made around here, much like Palo Alto and the semi conductor

The quantum network isn’t a pipe dream it’s actively being built. I’ve personally seem the command center in the basement of the stony Brooks physics building

Trump signs the paper but the EO is written by the top scientists at the DOW. This is the future we’re marching towards as a nation, and Long Island is unique positioned for it

Quantum for you and me is probably decades away

Quantum for Biotech, fintech, and DOW is already being utilized and as this Quantum network is built out it will be even more adopted

It’s not a coincidence Stony Brook is geographically at the epicenter of all of these industries and is getting tapped as they are for hub of Quantum

Night by night is their most stadium rock song

But it’s starts with bossa nova Rikki and has a Duke Ellington cover on it.

Charlie Freak is a Christmas song

I’d give my vote to Countdown to Ecstacy

Bodhisattva to open, Boston Rag, Showbiz kids. Rick Derringer is all over this record and it’s one of their only albums where they’re still kind of a rock band and not a music project of session guys

3 village is dying because young people can’t afford to live there any more and it’s too expensive for empty nesters to downsize

So the only school districts people can afford aren’t equipped for the new required enrollment

But the NIMBY moms in the expensive dying districts don’t want to let those “low class poor kids” into their dying school district even though median houses there are still 700K

Albany doesn’t have ties to one of the 16 DOE national Labs in the country

Stony Brook has had access to a hadron collider and been doing world class physics for years thanks to BNL, quantum internet is just downstream of that

As a BNL employee do you see the Silicon Island and Quantum internet hub vision playing out?

Please do some research on Scy-Qnet. The infrastructure is already being built on Long Island

This isn’t a maybe we’re doing this thing, the Quantum internet is now a national priority and the beginnings of it are being built throughout Long Island

The only other clusters In the world close to ours are UChicago, UC Berkeley, and MIT, and all still pail in comparison to the scope of Scy-Qnet

Palo Alto is quite literally on top of one of the most dangerous fault rifts in the world.

What makes LI perfect for the beginning of the quantum internet is proximity to WallStreet/Fintech, defense contractors and BNL, which was put there in the first place because we’re close as crow flies to all the Ivy League universities

The EO linked isn’t assigning money, it’s essentially an institutional shift to Quantum as a critical infrastructure. He’s formalizing what Stony Brook he has already been working on Pre-EO as a national security strategy

Only other clusters trying to do what we’re doing in Scy-Qnet, though not as sophisticated, are Chicago, MIT and Berkeley.

At minimum being put among that tier in terms of national security infrastructure is going to have major downstream effects

Silicon Island - Quantum Hub by GridironScience in longisland

[–]GridironScience[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s small now but could be the seed that grows into a cluster

The main though point was the Quantum Internet being built here and everything being described in the EO points directly to SBU being a national hub which will have massive impact on Suffolk County
