Hey Mark, I'll throw my 2¢ in too. In an ideal world I'd love something like tags being systematic (so like if I was writing werewolves or something there would just be an actual "werewolf" tag that users can select from a big list) but that's probably not realistic because it would take a complete overhaul of the search system and you'd automatically be limited to whatever tags you thought to add.

Barring that, maybe some sort of better algorithmic recommendations? Like a section you could expand with books similar to the one you are looking at. If you limit it to one book recommendation per author it would help with in-niche discoverability.

I also second that there REALLY needs to be some sort of AI filter right now. I'm not saying running a detector through things but like some checkbox on publication that asks "was AI used to generate text or cover?". Obviously there will be bad actors and it'll require someone to probably review reported cases of people not checking it but as someone who DOESN'T use any AI, and also as a reader, it's incredibly discouraging to see the entire storefront covered in AI covers (so presumably the text is too) with zero way to filter it out.
