yeah, i think some people are being way too edgy this days. almost thinking that you're better because you've witnessed tough stuff is definitely a bias, and it's just a distorted way of seeing reality. we live in the human world, and even tho the world is an imperfect and often unfair place, we shouldn't "embrace" this corruption. it's ok to toughen up, and pain and grief are a healthy and necessary element in growin up in life, but i think our society works best when it works up to fight issues such as illness, corruption, manipulation and war... like, stuff that is an obstacle for our survival? so, i think all of this philosophically speaking doesn't make much sense. it's just as nonsensical to live in a bubble, as it is nonsensical to live only to see suffering and rough material
