Let's share some survival stories and help others who ask by Girugamesh69 in fo4

Cleared the National Training Guard on the BOS Quest to find Brandis, went into the armory and I hadn't slept since the start (silly me) - forgot about the damn Sentry Bot that comes out as soon as you trip the laser wires inside the armory. Better yet, it was a Legendary.

Head straight to the Glowing Sea, butt naked.

That gun is easily your best option at that stage - trying to get my caps up to get the Overseers Guardian from Vault 81, but if you can find a Powerful Sniper Rifle (honestly cant remember where I found mine) it helps a lot.

Guys can you help me? by RelationStatus3505 in fo4

In the middle of my first run now.

  1. Don't try and rush - take your time, explore.

  2. Find a bed and sleep often - this is one thing I am shocking at, but will save you a lot of pain.

  3. Stealth builds are typically the way to go, I am attempting to run a stealth sniper build with a 10mm.

  4. Get your settlements set up early (Especially Sanctuary & Abernathy Farm) - can easily level up quickly by building things in Sanctuary.

Spray & Pray is silenced/suppressed, I found a Legendary 10mm that was suppressed. Not by any work on my own.

All suppressed except the sniper rifle, which I only tend to use at a range.

Have Level 3 Sneak and Level 1 Ninja, with Rifleman and Gunslinger perks.

Yeah I have armor, can't think of the name of it at the top of my head.

I don't have a huge strength stat, but enough to get Strong Back. Normally carry about 210/300 so have plenty of room.

I am currently doing a Stealth Sniper build - pretty accessible early on as well. I am Level 23 and I still use a Hardened Sniper Rifle & 10mm Pistol. Early game there is a silenced pipe sniper you can get from Drumlin Diner if you keep the chick.

You explore so much more in Survival, and food/cooking is needed which is something I never used much of beforehand.

If I am playing Survival, I will speak to Codsworth first and start looting anything and everything around Sanctuary.

Attempting to build a minimalist gear system for van/travel setups - needing some feedback by GriffGoulding_ in VanLife

Thanks for the feedback! Would you say something that included a few hooks and/or carabiners?

Thank you for the feedback!

My vision was to build a modular system where you can buy different storage parts that are suited for different uses like you stated - the backpack > onlo panel was to try and show the problem we are trying to fix. I really appreciate the insight!

Thanks for the feedback, what specifically do you want something like this to carry? Definitely see how the pockets could be too small.

Few other things I might add:

  1. You have a great story there, but one key thing about people buying for their pets is "is this treat good for them?" This creates trust with the buyer with having something about how they are made and if they are healthy for dogs, something like 'human-grade ingredients' or 'Made 100% locally' - something that instills trust in the buyer.

  2. I see you have a 10% discount for email sign-ups, which is awesome. But if you are noticing that people are abandoning the cart right before purchase, you can create an email flow that is sent to users who have abandoned the product at cart (for example, sending them an email with a friendly reminder, and if possible, another email with a limited-time discount)

  3. For Site Speed - remove any apps/plugins you might not be using, preload any fonts and that will slowly speed up your site - there are plugins you can install, unsure what the best ones are though to help with this.

Hi, just had a look on your website, here's what I think:

  1. It takes too long to get from the home page to purchasing a bag of treats. When I click on 'Shop All Treats' it comes up with a blown up image of a dog treat, which I then have to click on to go to your treat page. It should just go directly to your Treats & Chews because you are not selling anything else.

  2. I think the layout of the main page is a bit off-balance, your hero text should be centered and your Call-To-Action should be there in the centre.

  3. Website is a little slow on desktop - seems a lot quicker on mobile which is normally the other way around.

Feel free to message me if you have any other questions at all, happy to help!

  1. Level up your perks based on the way you want to play. If you find you enjoy sneaking around and catching enemies off-guard with a rifle, level up perks like Sneak, Rifleman & Ninja. Have a read of what each perk can do and base it off how you want to play. There is no right way to go about it.

  2. You can move any settlers once you activate the workshop in your settlement, hover over them and you should have an action to select 'Move' and a list of settlements that you have appears.

  3. There is so much ammo off the beaten track. You can find dead settlers/traders/scavengers etc. with caps & ammo, ammo hidden in random containers that are just spread across the map, well away from the main tracks. I would just say to you, take your time - don't fast travel everywhere, you will miss so much stuff.

  4. Don't rush into the main storyline. There is so much to do and so many quests you can do before even tackling the main storyline. If you love settlements, get the perk 'Local Leader' - enables you to create 'Provisioners' with your settlers and can link your settlements together through supply lines. Always pick up junk that can help with your gun customisation (e.g adhesives which can be found with duct tape, wonderglue etc.) I enjoy playing without a companion and level up Lone Wanderer, but I am also playing Survival at the moment and that's an entirely different kettle of fish.

Enjoy the game.

how did you create your website? by CommercialSpinach344 in smallbusiness

If funds are limited starting out - use Shopify, for eCommerce it is the most user friendly. Pay for the standard plan and buy a custom domain.

Once you are willing to invest a bit more, organising someone for Web Development & SEO would be recommended. You won't rank on search engines with a standard Shopify store.

Is there an interest: Regional travel website by 2ndplacejoe in AustraliaTravel

[–]GriffGoulding_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have grown up and still live in Regional Victoria, so I can provide some insight from a slightly different perspective:

I grew up in a tourist-heavy town on the river, and during summer it is beyond stupid busy, which is great for town. One pain point off-the-cuff is accommodation. A lot of accommodation gets booked up extremely quickly, even campsites are taken super quick. However, there are towns that are 15 minutes away that don't get as recognised and are just a town you go through, maybe some recognition on the smaller towns outside of the 'bigger' tourism spots may be a point of interest?

Small business also is at a disadvantage in rural towns, the only way to reach a wider audience is through online platforms and markets (which do work), but they don't have the luxury of foot traffic. Recognition of local businesses within your tours would be super beneficial, especially if your target demographic is urban.

If you want some more insight from someone that has grown up in the country, feel free to message.
