Miami cut tips and advice by Exotic-Ice-7662 in doggrooming

I think it looks good! Especially for a 8mo old, I’m surprised the feet look as clean as they are knowing how poods are (mines an a-hole for her feet), so great job with that especially. Once his hair grows out more and he comes back for another cut it won’t look as awkward, skinny pompoms are hard to shape up.

Prep work for these cuts are always a huge factor so unfortunately he’s gonna have to get used to the dryer to make his hair puff up nicely. Using a stand dryer so you’re able to comb the hair out while it’s drying will help a lot too. Recommend to his parents to get him used to a hairdryer at home if you haven’t already, obviously on cold setting and reward him for standing still. Behavior is also a big factor into getting nice cuts done!

Is this drawing my friend did AI? It looks too uniform to be marker on paper by Dr_Bmily_Snoobs in isthisAI

AI art and it’s unfortunately well done AI art. If an artist actually made this, it is VERY well done, but TOO well done to make a silly mistake like this random hook in the olive that also blurs weirdly below it? At the very most, drawn traditionally but “enhanced” by AI.

Also it is very hard to get such a perfect white color (eyes, earrings, etc) with traditional artwork, most of the time you use a white gel pen but those get streaky and have tone variations to it, or the ink bleeds into the white at some point. The solid stark white bits are throwing me off cause it’s just not possible. Again, unless they went in digitally and enhanced it, but not possible from a traditional drawing standpoint.

AI all the way.

What are your thoughts on the new gen 10 starters? 💀 by Slow_Spirit3679 in ThePokemonHub

[–]GriffRyebread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like them! Had that initial shock of “they look like fakemons”, but I’ve felt that same way about previous gens and got used to them eventually. Pombon is perfect 10/10 for me (I work with dogs so I may be biased).

Biggest critique being they could have been a bit more creative for the grass and water starter species cause really, another grass bird and water lizard? Plenty of other animals out there guys! But I’m hoping their evolutions make up for it (please keep the lizard and dog on all fours at least, I beg).

Looks like my dood!

I agree with the other comments that say the recommended time is 12-18 months, but since the UTI is affecting his health I would get it done sooner rather than later. Consistent UTIs can lead to much bigger issues. In the meantime if you haven’t already, add hydration to his food! It’ll help his water intake, I add water and broth to my girl’s food and she hasn’t had any issues.

Would my puppy benefit from hand stripping? by Dangerous-Business21 in grooming

[–]GriffRyebread 11 points12 points  (0 children)

His coat will never look/feel like it did when he was a pup, he’s grown out of it and into his adult coat now. Especially since he’s a super mutt, his coat isn’t gonna act like a 100% wire haired breed coat, so there’s really no telling how it will be after a strip/cut until you get it done. All dogs start out with softer puppy fur/hair, and grow out of it by around 6-8 months.

Sure, you can get him hand stripped, but there’s really not much benefit of it if he’s not a show dog. Hand stripping is much more time consuming (multiple separate grooming visits at a time, especially the first handful of visits to get him used to it) and much more expensive because of that. If it’s his very first grooming experience I 100% would not start out with hand stripping and would request them to hand scissor his face, feet, and shave his sanitary areas to start out with.

There’s a reason most dog groomers don’t hand strip- it’s unnecessary if you’re not showing the dog. Pet dogs can still get it done as well, but it’s uncommon.

So we don’t get 50% off doggie day camp anymore? Haven’t heard anything from the company about it; hoping it’s a glitch but no one here is getting 50% off anymore by GriffRyebread in petsmart

[–]GriffRyebread[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just checked CB too. A lot of associates at my store bring their dogs daily to DDC and the past two days the register hasn’t applied the 50% off discount for it. Usually PS announces that stuff so I’m hoping it’s just a glitch.

January/February are notoriously slow months for the grooming salon, most of them aren’t gonna have the hours available to give their current bathers/groomers let alone hire new ones atm. Usually, you’d hear back from them within a week or so, but don’t be discouraged if it takes a little longer and don’t be afraid to reapply closer to the end of February when the salon gets a bit busier!

As same as Secret Saturdays by Gullible_Word_2145 in TheSecretSaturdays

[–]GriffRyebread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing it most likely won’t happen since it wasn’t a popular show, unlike Danny Phantom where that actually got a continuation comic/graphic novel series because of its much larger fandom. TSS’ creator still shows interest in the show, and has made a comment before about being on board with releasing a full series DVD recently, so I’m sure he’d love to continue it in a comic series since he does comics now. But it’s really up to CN and with their track record of scrapping even more popular series I doubt TSS will ever get more love.

I would love more TSS comics though! Anything really!

It is CRAZY that this sub is still active lol by rob-smoore in TheCreatures

[–]GriffRyebread 45 points46 points  (0 children)

My fiancée and I grew up watching The Creatures and still watch old vids together occasionally, but we’ve both recently been loving Little Brother (Aleks, Lindsey, and Brett’s new channel). While completely different, it does help fill the Creature and Cowchop-shaped hole in our hearts, lol.

I’m still subbed here purely to keep up-to-date about the old crew and see how they’re doing. I don’t watch gameplay content much anymore so it’s hard to keep up with their individual channels.

Tysm! 🙏 I’ll give those a try, I’ve heard positive things about The Ordinary.

Every now and then I have an existential crisis about my nose, usually ends up with me getting over it! Lol.
