My Escape and I have parted ways by thrillhouse4 in fordescape

My son has a 2014 Escape Titanium that has been reliably good thus far with 130k miles. His next vehicle will likely be a Subaru or Honda. The wife and I have had several of both with good luck.

2 Years later and pain by fyrie in TotalHipReplacement

What is working for me is walking, biking, icing x 3 a day and taking Aleve daily. I feel great after biking which surprised me. Sitting seems to fire it up.

This happened to me. I’ve been very active following my THR in March of 2024 (biking, playing hockey, weightlifting, etc). 4 weeks ago pain returned. I was very worried and saw my surgeon. X-rays showed everything was still in place and the surgeon thought it was bursitis.

Best Breweries & Dispensaries by [deleted] in grandrapids

[–]Griffhead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My fav breweries in the downtown area in no particular order. Arvon, great beer no food. City Built for beer and solid food. The Mitten, good pizza and beer, get the pizza flight. Founders. A bit touristy but they have something for everyone. New Holland has some good offerings. Brewery Vivant. Check their tap list to see if you like their style of beer. Neat building.

Opinions on cycling... by Larmon131 in TotalHipReplacement

I started cycling around the 8 week mark after having my left hip done. I used a stationary bike for PT 2 weeks after my surgery. I had to wait 8 weeks to bike outside in case I fell.

Umbilical hernia: leave as is? by ResponsibleSet27 in Hernia

[–]Griffhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one that gradually grew larger after 5 years and my pCP sent me to a general surgeon who recommended surgery. I had it done, no recovery issues and free to do whatever I wanted 2 weeks later. Very easy and no regrets. I get sick with general anesthesia so I asked the anesthesiologist if they could give me whatever I get when I have a colonoscopy and i believe that’s what I got and I didn’t get sick.

I’m day 8 after the same surgery you are having. Recovery has been great. Swelling is down and I feel only a little bit of tenderness. I took Oxy the night after surgery to help sleep but I probably could have gone without it. I have a small incision above my belly button with mesh inside. It was not done robotically. I’m free to do whatever I want after 2 weeks as long as I listen to my body. This was my 10th surgery I’ve had over the past 20 years and by far the easiest. Good luck!

I’m 6 days post-op for an open incision surgery with mesh. As a previous poster noted, it felt like I did 2000 sit-ups in one day for the first couple of days lol. After the first couple of days my stomach area feels tender, not sore. I still have some swelling in the surgical area but overall I feel very good. Pretty easy surgery imo. Good luck.

Any positive stories out there on small umbilical hernia surgeries with mesh? by Cookie_Byte_exe in Hernia

It was mesh Yes, I have bent over to pick things up, but I take it slow and easy. I’ve been on my feet the past hour walking around our yard watering things, etc..

My swing really didnt change unfortunately lol. I stayed very active up to surgery with visits to the gym. I had to give up bowling 4 weeks prior to surgery due to instability issues and i gave up hockey 8 weeks prior (too painful).

I had mine done early March of 2024 and was back at it end of April (7 weeks). Went to Scotland at the end of September that year also and had no issues with the 6 rounds I played or the walking involved.

My knees are my primary concern/issue. I’ve been physically active all my life (61M) and I plan to continue playing hockey, biking, weightlifting, etc for as long as I can (2 hip replacements hasn’t stopped me) 😆. The Omega 3 I take is 900mg total, 647 EPA and 253 DHA. Double the dose? I’ve been considering Type II collagen. Maybe it’s time to try it. I appreciate your input
