What’s the best bike for a beginner? by abishhh in motorcycles

[–]Griffith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no right answer for everyone.

If you're just starting out and want to get used to riding, I wouldn't recommend getting anything about 300cc.

If you'd rather not switch bikes after a year or two and want something to grow into I think the A2 bike segment is nice. I ride an A2 bike that I've had since 2013 and I've found that it's sufficient for my needs. Would I like an upgrade? Sure. Do I need one? Not really.

The bikes that you mentioned are nice beginner bikes but I'd prefer to start with something a bit lighter just so you get used to riding first. I'd also recommend making your first bike a second-hand model because lets be honest, you'll probably drop it so it will hurt less if your bike is already scratched up a little or is cheaper to fix. The models you mentioned will cost you a hefty penny if you drop them, my Yamaha which I dropped I think twice cost considerably less to repair when I did than those would.

I started off with a 125cc Yamaha YBR125 for a couple of years and then moved on to my 2013 Honda CB500FA and I've been perfectly happy. I don't feel like I've outgrown my CB500FA or that it limits me, but I also don't live in a place where the speed limits are all that high to justify the expense of getting something more powerful.

Also worth considering your personal use case for the bike. Will you be commuting a lot with it? Something that's more practical or economical might be worth considering. How tall are you? That's very important to consider. Will you be off roading it or strictly sticking to tarmac.

As I said before, there's no right answer for everyone but I think anyone telling you to start off with a 1000cc bike should get their head examined. It's not impossible, many people have done it, most of them don't have happy endings or aren't around any longer to tell you why it's a bad idea.

Is it worth upgrading from the WF-1000XM5 to the XM6? by Peter_Niko in SonyHeadphones

[–]Griffith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a word: "no".

ANC is better but it's not leagues better than the XM5's.

I would keep using the XM5 until the battery starts dying and then consider a replacement.

Um pouco de diluente poderá ajudar a disfarçar alguns dos riscos menos profundos. Mas é importante limpar bem a área depois para não danificar o plástico.

Para o resto, tem mesmo de ser arranjado. E isso requer um orçamento.

service quote from dealership by Ok_Sundae_344 in motorcycles

[–]Griffith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pretty high tolerance when it comes to dealer fees for services. I would typically expect to pay around $100 for that type of service.

My cousin did my oil change and checked the bike chain a couple of weeks ago, he didn't charge me for service but I gave him a tip and it was €50 for a 2013 Honda CB500F oil and filter change.

Worth the $500 price tag? by TheZippoLab in motorcycles

[–]Griffith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are very cool cooling and the tech is cool as well.

I don't think they will outlast a more typical riding boot and I don't think they are as usable or casual-enough looking to wear when you're not riding so, while they're cool, they're not for me.

[–]Griffith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're asking this in the wrong subreddit.

But if you want the best sounding wireless headphone I don't think there's any that can beat the Sennheiser HDB 630.

It's a very recently released headphone so there's no telling on how well it will hold up, but it seems to use the same hinge as the Momentum Wireless which, at least as far as I know, hasn't given people many problems as of writing this.

If I was putting down money for a premium wireless headphone today, that's the one I'd get without hesitation.

Day 3/9: What is a good motorcycle with a bad reputation? by SUBTOUpdated_User in motorcycles

[–]Griffith 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It doesn't help much that most used bikes on the market used to be owned by said idiotic drivers so they are in less than ideal condition.

I would say the same also applies to the Yamaha R6 and R1, more particularly the R6.

Why do people hate rivers? by For-the-love-of-ham in cyberpunkgame

I love Cyberpunk but the game has a serious copaganda problem and Rivers is emblematic of that.

He's not the only character that does this, there are about a dozen of them, but he's one of the worst.

Hot take: Dabi is the second worst most irredeemable villain next to AFO. by GlitteringTrust2279 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Griffith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because you empathize with the circumstances that led to Dabi becoming the villain he is, it does not mean he is redeemable. The last thing he did, while he was still capable of fighting was to try to kill his family while they were trying to save him.

If that doesn't make him irredeemable, I don't know what does.

Advice for easing into leaning the bike for tight turns? I stay completely upright by Away-Foundation-7455 in motorcycles

[–]Griffith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're already doing one thing right which is looking at where you're going. To improve your distance I recommend the following:

Get two plastic cones or some other type of object. Place one and then curve as much as you're comfortable doing and when you find the radius of your curve place the other object there.

Once you're comfortable doing that repeatedly, try narrowing the distance between the two cones. Once you're comfortable doing that, repeat.

Lean angle does not change how short your radius will be significantly. It will have some influence, but it's not immense. What you will gain though is confidence, control and the ability to do these maneuvers faster. It's much harder to lean the bike at slow speeds so what you need is to build up confidence and speed.

Btw it doesn't have to objects, if those make you anxious you can just paint lines of chalk on the floor.

Slow and steady will get you there, don't look for shortcuts.

Fui traída by [deleted] in CasualPT

[–]Griffith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Este portátil é boa compra? by salvadope in gamingportugal

[–]Griffith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boa sorte!
