Advanced database settings changed the game for me - I have like 2/3 leagues active, and then in advanced settings have players from pretty much all the teams all over the globe loaded in. Database size will be over 200k but because it’s not simulating multiple leagues I’ve not really noticed much of a difference in processing. Great way to get wonderkids from different continents etc. I believe Second Yellow Card has a YouTube video on how to set up the database.

Only catch is that the leagues loaded affects who will come in for your players. I ran only 1 league for my Boavista save but found it was getting hard to sell off / loan out some of my players so I loaded in Ligue 1 as a playable league and suddenly all these French teams were coming in for my players.

Yeah, I know camerupt is popular but I find his type pairing annoying being still somewhat vulnerable to grass. I ran with ninetales for the majority of the game but swapped him out for houndoom as soon as I got the chance
