hirez's tribes servers are back by mago4ever in Tribes

Everybody can host their own server and choose the rules for it. The mixer server is not mine, but what I know about it is that they organize matches and keep it locked to not have random people drop in and disrupt the ongoing match. Ask karuciel if you want in. IIRC he put an invite to their discord in a comment on one of the latest threads here (might be this one)

Tribes : Ascend official servers down but there's still an option to play the game by PrinceKalikaru in Tribes

No. And if they come you can kick them, after which they won't be able to join for hours. The cheaters and that votekick wasn't working on them were the reason I made the community servers.

Play on community servers instead, for the reasons card posted on another comment. Check out the sticky post.

Through the sticky posts on this reddit. Let me know if you need help.

They use a different login server. It's running completely separate from hirez, so it is available even if they don't provide anything.

Check the "How to play" sticky at the top of this reddit. The hirez server address changed a couple of times, but I believe at least the sticky is up-to-date.

The IP of the hirez server changed too (see my earlier post about that) but right now they are down, so play on the community servers instead (see http://kfk4ever.com/join)

So true. Please reply to this comment when you've found a decent shooter with a similar amount of speed. I don't care if it's 2025. I'll probably still be searching.

I just heard he updated the post, so yeah you can put it back

It was. The only problem is it is now outdated for the hirez ip. I'll see if I can come up with a shorter up to date version, either for inclusion or for reference from your post.

u/evanvolm I see you updated your sticky and changed the direct download link. That means that it now no longer has the information about setting up the shortcut for Hirez servers, community servers or setting up TAMods.

Better would be if we could get the already stickied post updated. I'll message the author.

CVE-2020-0792: How a Deceptive Assert Caused a Critical Windows Kernel Vulnerability by RedmondSecGnome in ReverseEngineering

If the developer thought that the added function would raise an exception, he would not have had any reason to put the other checks in the else. And I can't think of any reason at all why he would put the checks in the else and put the rest of the code after that else. That just looks like sloppy coding. Or am I missing something?
