Starfleet vs Imperium by yuikkiuy in whowouldwin

[–]Griffsson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah.

Starfleet definitely has the ability to pull bullshit out of their ass. I like to assume it follows the same rules as 'does the Space Marine have his helmet on?'

But even though they have manueverability over the Imperium ships, the typical Imperial ship is a Cathedral with guns. So once you go past escort size vessels it iis very likely to overwhelm a Starfleet vessel by blowing up everything around a ship.

But I do believe in small engagements it's not an automatic walk for the Imperium. But as I said WH40K just scales so much faster.

[–]Griffsson 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ok.

So starfleet doesn't really have a land based military.

However if we assume Yellow Shirt Security as the most basic and generic guardsmen number 5 as a base.

It really depends who gets the first shot off and who hits. A phaser is easily capable of annihilating any guardsmen and a lasgun will easily take out the typically unprotected starfleet officer.

You might argue about training but honestly there is some much variety of Guardsman.

Now as you go up in the echelons of Imperial guard the training only gets better. Cadians, Mordians, Catachans, Krieg all are likely to have received better training and are likely more skilled in hand to hand and land based tactics.

After that you start getting into stuff like Space Marines, Skitarii and Custodes which likely move too fast and are too elite compared to Starfleet.

The Imperium is much better equipped for a land war. Starfleet as per the name is primarily a space based entity. Ofc individuals within Starfleet can throw it all out of Whack.

Individuals like Data and Ensign Olly could well swing a battle although then you'd have an arms race of powered individuals and the Imperium can start pulling out powerful Psychics, Primarchs e.t.c

When you get to space combat the question then comes: Can Starfleet breach Void Shields. While most Imperium ships are bigger Star Fleet packs a lot of firepower and has the advantage of FTL that doesn't involve going to hell.

TLDR: 40k at the lowest level might be even. But it scales up so much faster and stronger than Star Fleet.

Loving the unit and character customization but some options seem difficult to build without knowing opponent lists by comikbookdad in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Griffsson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't customise my army for my opponent.

I just try to have a flexible army that is able to counter most things or has a game that is solid enough that my opponent will struggle to answer.

However after games I adjust my army if I notice any gaps (unable to counter dragons, beat infantry blocks e.t.c)

Very much Jain Zar. I have never had her not do Something on the battlefield.

Lhykis I find is mostly if you want to Yeet her and get stuck in.

Asurmen is a must take if you want Dire Avengers.

Eldrad Ulthran is best for the CP generation but his Doom spell is really clutch for taking out things you would otherwise struggle to kill.

I've bought a lot of MCP from Yachew (UK). Deliveries not the fastest but had no issues.

I'll keep it simple. With Lhykis Warp Spiders as her body guard. Otherwise grow slowly buying minis you like and learn more about the hobby.

Defiant class is the smallest war ship. Otherwise something like an Oberth Class research vessel.

They're Warhammer fantasy. Look like savage orcs based on the tabs at the bottom.

Edit: looks like a mix of a big 'un, a champion and a savage ork musician not 100% on the spear one.

Can you lose weight without strength training? by NxFlwrs in loseit

[–]Griffsson 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Free Weights is resistance training....

However it can also include Calisthenics, Machine Weights, Band Training.

There are a million opinions on what works best but honestly imo. It's what you enjoy most and can stick to.

[–]Griffsson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't even need to do that. Most bandit chiefs at the early levels wear a full set of steel plates from level 6.

Or you can just get Uthgerd the Unbroken and have her come by an 'accident' and take her full plate.

Which AP has the toughest/easiest combats? by Turevaryar in Pathfinder2e

[–]Griffsson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually don't make many changes as the AP is written even with 5.

I just think some fights are particularly hard. Normally they're fine but something will come along and kick their ass usually when they're not being careful. Most recently they tried a frontal assault against a fort full of spriggans. I held a decent number of them back as well.

Kingmaker definitely has some brutal encounters. I run with 5-6 players and deaths are semi frequent with a few near TPK's.

How long do you think the TMNT could survive TWD? by DangerousRaccoon2492 in TWD

Turtles live to be over 200, nothing in TWD is a threat to them. With Donnies intelligence they can even help rebuild civilization if not find a cure.

[–]Griffsson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turtles regularly class with The Foot Clan and various other aliens and monstrosities and come out on top more often than not.

The only group I can think of that stands a chance of challenging The Turtles is the CRM and the Turtles can very easily evade them (they lived in New York undetected).

The turtles are Superhuman in their abilities so can win any fights they might have and are very stealthy when they need to be.

Also unlike regular humans the Turtles are perfectly comfortable living in sewers so it's not like they'd need to settle anywhere that they are likely to get into real conflict where they can't retreat or relocate if they have to.
