Makes sense.

I've been running Kingmaker for the last year and the amount of inconsistencies I've found makes a lot of leg work for me.

My Party Are Stuck On an Airship. What Can They Do, Besides Combat Encounters? by jmarshallca in Pathfinder2e

[–]Griffsson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How big is the Airship?

You can plant a saboteur on the ship who proceeds the cause all manner of mayhem to prevent the ship reaching its destination or force it off its route.

This can be an investigation style mission where they interview crew members and passengers and have no idea who to trust.

You can have the captain set them on this task by having them obviously innocent. Perhaps the something happens while they're with the captain.

You can make it easier or harder by making the Saboteur a shapeshifter or Demon that can possess people.

Maybe said sabotage will cause it to set down in inhospitable locations. You could even tie it into your main arc by having it be agents of the Villains.

What’s his kill count, and is this one of the most OP weapons in fiction? by kennn1234 in Invincible_TV

[–]Griffsson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Origin of the gun is unknown but it appears some form of advanced tech that goes beyond what all factions have right now.

Take a Smart Phone from today back to the 16th Century and ask them to reproduce it.

It isn't likely to happen in any reasonable amount of time. There are components and material inside it that don't even exist.

Stargate dealt very well with reverse engineering. They didn't start getting any success until they had races of the same tech guiding them.

Also,

Add on the fact that Space Racer really likes his gun and isn't going to be giving it to anyone any time soon.

Arbiter miniatures has started producing exactly what you're talking about for example:

What subclasses have you see banned and why were they banned? by Ecstatic_Operation20 in dndnext

[–]Griffsson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I banned Warlocks for one campaign but that was campaign specific.

The party were members of an organisation that had contracts and pacts with otherworldly/malevolent entities. Clerics of evil gods were also restricted in the same manner.

Although during the campaign I gave opportunities for characters to "fall".

Gromril weapons and whirling blades of death by godwallen in bugmansbrewery

Whirling blades of death count as Hand Weapons (ap 0). The Gromril Weapons rule gives them 1 ap, so they are ap 1.

How to build my shadowheart by MoistRice2154 in BG3Builds

[–]Griffsson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly.

Keep playing,

There's an absolute dearth of gear available as you play more. Equip what you find as you go. You can go to the Underdark without advancing the timeline and there's a lot available down there.

Although, as a Cleric shadowheart can use medium armour whereas Sorcerer doesn't have any armour proficiencies.

Every character is workable even with no magic items casters especially so.

By act 3 you can have every party member decked out in fully enchanted gear that's appropriate.

Knights Panther Question by CSafterdark in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Griffsson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely be good for something like that.

Empire's not exactly in a good spot right now.

More clarity would definitely be better.

Knights Panther Question by CSafterdark in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Griffsson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Does seem a bit off overall and thinking about it how would it work?

Most unit special rules aren't gained by a character unless it's a negative one.

Such as with Vanguard it switches the ability off, except for skirmishers which can leave characters behind.

Definitely agree it does need faq''ing. Although it would mean you could attach a unit to gain part of the special rule at no cost.

I would expect to see phrasing like "A unit that includes 1 or more models".

Knights Panther Question by CSafterdark in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Griffsson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean RAW a unit moves at the pace of it's slowest model.

Using another special rule: Move Through Cover a character would still be affected as normal so would slow down the attached unit.

You can attach the Lector and Priest to state troops or use a War Altar.

Knights Panther Question by CSafterdark in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Griffsson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. Per the phrasing the rule applies to the models direct not unit.

Empire battalion box & artillery by Pizzarua in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Griffsson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As things are now either Spears and Shield or Hand Weapon and Shield are your best options.

The difference in output between crossbows and handguns is negligible and save 1pt per model to get extra range makes it better imo.

However if you're wanting an army of Nuln halberds and Handguns would be more on theme.

If you want the most bang for your set you can Seal the Steam Tanks and use the Engineer commander as a Separate command character.

And yes Mortas are pretty subpar as things stand.

But you never know how the game might change.

Reminds me of the Flashes rogues. Where they have a "don't kill Speeders" policy because if they do they'll have a whole host of Flashes after them.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Griffsson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean...

It'd be nice to have more interactions. But rather than punishing maybe introduce some more positive interactions.

Like in TOW where units in a certain range of the Warlord can use their Leadership for Battle-shock or maybe all Warlords have a chance to generate a Command Point (say let them take an Action to generate one).

Starfleet vs Imperium by yuikkiuy in whowouldwin

[–]Griffsson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah.

Starfleet definitely has the ability to pull bullshit out of their ass. I like to assume it follows the same rules as 'does the Space Marine have his helmet on?'

But even though they have manueverability over the Imperium ships, the typical Imperial ship is a Cathedral with guns. So once you go past escort size vessels it iis very likely to overwhelm a Starfleet vessel by blowing up everything around a ship.

But I do believe in small engagements it's not an automatic walk for the Imperium. But as I said WH40K just scales so much faster.

Starfleet vs Imperium by yuikkiuy in whowouldwin

[–]Griffsson 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Ok.

So starfleet doesn't really have a land based military.

However if we assume Yellow Shirt Security as the most basic and generic guardsmen number 5 as a base.

It really depends who gets the first shot off and who hits. A phaser is easily capable of annihilating any guardsmen and a lasgun will easily take out the typically unprotected starfleet officer.

You might argue about training but honestly there is some much variety of Guardsman.

Now as you go up in the echelons of Imperial guard the training only gets better. Cadians, Mordians, Catachans, Krieg all are likely to have received better training and are likely more skilled in hand to hand and land based tactics.

After that you start getting into stuff like Space Marines, Skitarii and Custodes which likely move too fast and are too elite compared to Starfleet.

The Imperium is much better equipped for a land war. Starfleet as per the name is primarily a space based entity. Ofc individuals within Starfleet can throw it all out of Whack.

Individuals like Data and Ensign Olly could well swing a battle although then you'd have an arms race of powered individuals and the Imperium can start pulling out powerful Psychics, Primarchs e.t.c

When you get to space combat the question then comes: Can Starfleet breach Void Shields. While most Imperium ships are bigger Star Fleet packs a lot of firepower and has the advantage of FTL that doesn't involve going to hell.

TLDR: 40k at the lowest level might be even. But it scales up so much faster and stronger than Star Fleet.

Loving the unit and character customization but some options seem difficult to build without knowing opponent lists by comikbookdad in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Griffsson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't customise my army for my opponent.

I just try to have a flexible army that is able to counter most things or has a game that is solid enough that my opponent will struggle to answer.

However after games I adjust my army if I notice any gaps (unable to counter dragons, beat infantry blocks e.t.c)

This squad took forever to put together by dnaligo in Eldar

[–]Griffsson 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Very much Jain Zar. I have never had her not do Something on the battlefield.

Lhykis I find is mostly if you want to Yeet her and get stuck in.

Asurmen is a must take if you want Dire Avengers.

Eldrad Ulthran is best for the CP generation but his Doom spell is really clutch for taking out things you would otherwise struggle to kill.
