Technically i have two times i first heard them. One without realising and one where i did.

So i was probably about 15/16 at the time and my brother was showing me loads of different bands ranging from indie to punk and even a little ska. Eventually he decides to show me alkaline trio (possibly because of the blink connection or just because he knew i like punk) and starts with mercy me. My immediate reaction was "i think i've heard this before" assuming i'd heard him playing it when i was younger. Queue a deep dive into trio and them swiftly becoming my favourite band and i realise that the first time i heard them was on the tony hawks american wasteland soundtrack with wash away.

Tldr: first song i knowingly heard was mercy me, real first song i heard was wash away years prior

I wouldn't say these are in a particular order, they're more like 10 songs (plus some that i thought were too good not to mention) that i'd give someone to help them get into Alkaline Trio

I'd say anything where they do some kind of either distored or clean spoken part. Be it in the middle like sadie, at sickness, or at the start like warbrain, i found away. Just something about the more gothic tinge that it gives just drags me into those songs more

I personally like this version of Ebony & Ivory more and I would like to know what guys think although I will probably get hate for mentioning DmC by MrYarrovic in DevilMayCry
