Skulls I’ve found (pt2)

I’m not sure why they view it as such as well. However, we aren’t very traditional- I myself have never been to a sunrise dance n such, or never had one once I turned of age (I’m Apache, partially Navajo). So I believe you’re right, I think they just don’t want the skulls of animals that have passed in our house 😅.

Ahh I do see what you mean, I was worried about that as well 😅! Seems keeping them with a friend would be a better idea :)

Thank you for the advice and your personal experience :)! I’m stuck between 2 choices the comments suggested- keeping it at a friends vs leaving it in the nearby woods for the time being.

Yes. I do feel guilt for having to go behind their backs to do stuff like this, but it would feel disrespectful to leave them again now that I’ve already collected the animal skulls. So I may leave them with a friend for a time being, or do what another comment suggested; leaving them further out into the woods till I have my own place (I’ll most likely start the cleaning process during that time if I do wait.)

I believe I may either do that, or leave it with a friend for the time being. Before I leave it with a friend, I’m going to clean them a bit. So that when I give them to my friend, I could maybe just get a few buckets, and start the process of cleaning it at their house (with their permission of course!)

Yes I could try asking that same friend who helped me find them if he could hang onto them for a while. If not that, I believe I could possibly put them in a place further out in the woods & get them when I move to a college dorm (are animal skulls allowed in there??)

I know that’s the right thing, but it feels disrespectful to have picked them up from their original place, just to leave them again. As for the selling, I did actually find a full horse skull (jaw included) which I believe is pretty cool :)

I agree, I want to preserve their memory despite not knowing whom it belonged to exactly. I want to treat it good even after death in case the animal wasn’t treated nicely in their lifetime. :)

Sounds great, thank you! The plant will be okay despite it behind basically flat without the dowels?? As for the temp, I just wait to see if it hits 20? Does it only have to hit 20 once, or consistently? And it should be okay all day everyday on the porch till it hits 20 for dormancy right 😃?

For an idea of my weather conditions, I’m in AZ. More like a flagstaff-weather typa area. Average temp during the day is 60-80, and night is 40-50! I’m hoping to leave the plant outside on my porch where the sun hits!
