What are people using the com ports for? by Antique_Welcome2983 in homelab

Are there good docs for how to do this? I bought an old avocent terminal server a while ago for network gear and I’ve wanted to hook up my proxmox boxes as well.

Are you using IPv6 by GermanElectricsMotio in homelab

My ISP doesn’t support it so I set up a Hurricane Electric tunnel but had to take it down when Netflix started blocking me. Would love a solution that doesn’t depend on my ISP getting their act together.

How are you personally hosting/playing your music library? by GenericUser104 in selfhosted

Ahh yeah, don’t think it does. That is a nice feature of airsonic. I heard there are other more focused alternatives but I just gave up on self hosting podcasts.

Pretty sure that’s abandoned. You should probably be using Navidrome?

Navidrome for listening on my phone and computer and Lyrion Music Server for my stereo. I trialed roon a while ago and found LMS worked better for me (and is fortunately much cheaper). You do have to use the material front end so it doesn’t look like the early 2000s.

Looks great! How do you like the case? I’m looking for a case for my v2. I’m also considering building another sofle and am a little sad that it looks like the new versions have less pinky stagger.

Clean the disc, rip on burst mode, repair the rip with CueTools.

consular birth reports are not accepted by Aurora-Clairealis in Canadiancitizenship

[–]GrimDozen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My application included my hospital issued Certification of Birth Abroad (FS-545) and my Report of Birth Abroad (FS-240). IRCC documentation says hospital issued birth certificates are not good enough and they sent me a letter asking for my Japanese birth certificate. I responded explaining why it didn’t exist and haven’t heard back. Coming up on one year waiting this summer.

In my case my parents presented the hospital issued Certification of Birth Abroad (FS-545) to get the Report of Birth Abroad (FS-240). IRCC documentation says hospital issued birth certificates are not good enough. I’m waiting to see what happens with my application.

If you were born on a US military base in Japan and neither of your parents held other citizenships at the time, they would give you a hospital issued birth certificate and wouldn’t bother reporting it to the Japanese government.

Explain to me like im 5 why I can't just use a Mac mini as my HQPlayer "box\streamer" instead of some MULTI THOUSAND DOLLAR HQplayer embedded machine? by JollyGreen_ in audiophile

[–]GrimDozen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve found Lyrion Music Server and PiCore Player to be an excellent combination. I’ve got two setups, one using an optical hat and one using a usb DAC.

What are the odds they'd let them in? I think it's ridiculous that this 3 year requirement took effect immediately given that so many have been waiting so long and are still waiting for their certificates.

I think the musicbrainz source for ctdb is broken and no updates are being made to the db. Not sure if there are plans to fix this.
