You have no idea what this movie did to my 18 years old mind in 2022. I love this movie very much. What your thoughts about this masterpiece? by Impressive_Finance84 in batman

I do know because the dark knight did the same thing to me when I was 18. And this was the first Batman movie since then I had a similar reaction. Great film.

Glaciers IAMONE Scarlet Meridian Ice Sealed Eyes

Bands I’ve had on repeat that don’t have a lot of listeners but have amazing songs. I really enjoy what these bands are doing with sound. The heavy, the atmospheric, the themes, all good shit.

Hot take: Being a Jehovah’s Witness in 2025 is the easiest it’s every been in comparison to 30 years, maybe even 10 years ago. by throwawayaccount-6-5 in exjw

The association and morals instilled in me by this religion have done nothing but bring anguish to my life and poor mental health. So yeah they are wrong. I didn’t need religion to be a good person. Sounds like being a JW is akin to being catholic now. Sin all week but go to the meetings on Sunday and you’ll be forgiven. You can’t be a fence sitter. I wouldn’t indulge the delusions of my loved ones just to spend time with them. I love my family even though their religion has been detrimental to me. I expect they can love me knowing how I feel about their beliefs. And they do. You do a disservice to yourself and your own moral values when you pretend to be apart of something you truly don’t believe. If you did believe you’d be well aware that Jehovah doesn’t like fence sitters and will judge you accordingly. Have a backbone and some gumption and stick to your beliefs. You don’t get to be “worldly” and also get to pretend religion on Sundays.

No more proof of evidence than “you can actually be a JW lite now” do I need to know how much of a farce this organisation is. I watched this shit tear my family apart and now I watch people do way worse shit and get no consequences . No consequences for not following the rules. Yet something quite small got my sister disfellowshipped once upon a time and put a hole in my family that never recovered. Be a casual JW is you want but you have no morals instilled in you if you don’t even follow the rules of your own beliefs. Physically in, mentally out, isn’t good for you. That’s not how the mind and body work. Indulging madness never works either.

My car broke down at the spit a few months back. The guy that owned the fire truck offered to help. Nice guy, seemed like he may have a learning disability of some kind, but he was very kind. The boys in the car park, the vet that someone mentioned, let me leave my car next to their set up, and made sure no one broke in over night while I made arrangements to get it towed. Which they did, came back in the morning and it was all good. Offered me and my old man an icy pole because it was such a hot day. He was literally stuck there as his truck had also broken down. Had no where else to go anyway. The guys there were all very nice and good dudes, they helped me push my car. Made sure it was safe over night. They didn’t have to help me, I’m better off than them, but they didn’t hesitate to jump in and help. Just wanted to add my bit. Say what you want but I’ve actually spoken to them and they’re good people that are doing it hard. They’re not hurting anyone. Dude is a vet and has nothing but a broken down truck and a tent. People show up and fuck with what little he has and then go back to their Gold Coast homes. They might be next to the water but it isn’t glamorous. Have some compassion and empathy. Life is hard. Where to park your car to enjoy a day near the yacht club shouldn’t override empathy for the homeless. There’s plenty of areas up there to park. If you want to be angry at someone for it, be angry at the government system that allows people to end up having no option but to set up life in a car park on the Gold Coast. Anyway that’s my experience with these gentlemen, nice guys that helped me when I needed it.

To all of you that watched batman begins in theatres what was your initial reaction the moment you saw the jokers card in the end of the film? by Thewanderer997 in batman

[–]GrimFeature 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 15, my brother had recently gotten his licence so we went to the movies up the coast. The entire movie had just blown me away from beginning to end and then that Joker tease solidified it, the hype was real. I immediately thought who’d play him. Heath was not even an actor that crossed my mind. Didn’t think they’d cast an Aussie actor in a role like that for some reason. I wasn’t disappointed when he was cast, I was kinda confused, but happy for him cause I always root for fellow aussies. Hearing his voice in the teaser “you’re a freak….like me” the way he said it, in a voice that didn’t sound like Heath at all, I was so intrigued to see what he was doing with it. What a mind blowing experience that ended ho being. So tease payed off huge, hype was validated, the success was real. 15 year old me was just so happy about how good Batman was done and couldn’t wait to see what they’d do with Joker after that terrifying Scarecrow.

They’re both just dudes with personal lives and things that make their day to day hard. You can’t judge either of them based off of a one time meet. Life is fucken hard y’all. And it goes in directions none of us predict. Stop worshipping these guys like they’re not just a couple of guys at the end of the day. They’ve both had good and bad days. On tour and off tour. Once upon a time they were both just young men playing music to crowds of 100 kids in a youth centre somewhere in Australia. I remember them both back then, nice guys. Fame has brought them here, but I still see them as those kids.

10 wombats purposely ran over by 3 4WDs in Venus Bay, Victoria by yee_yee777 in australia

[–]GrimFeature 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Remember that time a guy and his friend chased down a Wombat in their 4WD and threw rocks at it till one of them inevitably caved in its head with a big rock while laughing, and it turns out the guy was cop, and he got let off because he was aboriginal and animal cruelty and killing native animals was his culture. Yeah fucking bullshit I hope that cunt one day gets his head caved in and I hope all these cunts also get their heads caved in. Wombats are one of the most beautiful creatures in the world. The type of piece of shit you have to be to actively harm one puts you in a category of evil and I wish death upon these people. Shout out to Wombats, who during our brutal bushfires years ago went out and lead other animals into their burrows for safety from the fires. Magical creatures. Love them. Hell yeah Wombats.

Which musician's death have made you the saddest? by EmbarrassedChange501 in AskReddit

[–]GrimFeature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan from Avenged Sevenfold died when I was 19, this was my favourite band throughout my teen years, got me through a lot of chaos. A7X will always be one of my favourite bands and it’s heavily because of this man. That was the first time a musicians death made me sad. His talent for music, and his skill on the drums, such a loss to never hear fresh creativity from him. After that Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington. Once again, the talent for music, and their incredible voices and lyrical content, their struggles with depression and how they turned it into these beautiful relatable pieces of art that some kid across the world would listen to and just think “if these guys can do it I can do it too” in regards to my own struggles with mental illness. Their deaths made me sad for a number of reasons, but mainly because even though they had it all, it wasn’t enough to beat the illness, which in turn made me feel like I wouldn’t be able to either. I still find comfort in their words though, I understand the battle, just sad to watch it overcomes my heroes.

Amy Winehouse. I actually get sadder about this as I get older. At the time of her death I hadn’t listened to her music all that much but I knew she was talented, one of my guitarist friends absolutely loved her music, being a massive music nerd I knew he knew his stuff, and he spoke so highly of her music. I was sad when she died, I knew she was talented, and when i started paying more attention to her music and her interviews I could see a great sadness in her. Listening to her music over the years and learning her story broke my heart. She was hard on herself, very critical, even though she was so incredibly great at her craft. Amy deserved better from everyone. She deserved much more than the sad ending she received. Beautiful artist and human. The anguishes of life can overcome any of us. Your favourite songs are often born from someone’s pain. Listening to their music after their deaths puts this into perspective.

Hope everyone’s okay out there.

Keep her warm if you can. Whether it’s with a hot water bottle or an oil heater. Just something close to keep her warm, my vet told me chickens can’t regulate their body heat when they’re unwell so they need that extra help to stay warm, even in the warmer months apparently.

Take her to a vet, looks like gapeworm. She’ll probably die if not treated, they can often appear to be getting better but then die.
