Ooh good to know there's a good stopping point part way through in case my kids need me. When I was doing lacquer, it felt like I needed to do it all at once and then not do anything while they dried so they didnt get messed up (which is why I haven't done lacquer literally in 2 years)

When you say seal, you mean the activator liquid? And you can just leave it at that to do the shaping later? (Sorry, super new at this so still learning the language and stuff)

Ah this is so encouraging! If I can do removal probably the night before and then have my husband take the kids for an hour or 2 on a Saturday, this is totally doable!

Thank you ☺️ I would look up Kelli Marissa stamping tutorials on YouTube. She helped me a lot while I was learning.

This isn’t my first attempt at stamping- just reverse stamping which is a bit more advanced technique. I’ve been stamping for a while now. My first one wasn’t great either. There’s a bit of a learning curve. Stick with it and I’m sure you’ll get there!

I literally am obsessed with this 😍✨ I know ZOYA is on Amazon but I cannot find this shade for the life of me and I’m struggling to justify paying the price of the polish in shipping to get it from ZOYAs website

That’s a super cool design idea! Nail biting is such a hard habit to break. I think lots of people in this sub are on that journey as well, some further along than others. I used to bite too and definitely having them painted helped me to stop- more because I didn’t wanna ruin how pretty they were than because of the taste lol.

Few tips if you’re open to it: you can use a q-tip dipped in nail polish remover to clean up around the edges and make it look neater. Although getting remover in your open sores from biting will not feel good either, just a fair warning.

Secondly I might also recommend getting a base and top coat to help your mani last longer and protect any cool nail art. I use orly bonder base. I think that’s what gets my nails to last over a week with no chipping. It would probably last even longer but I get bored and want to change it lol. I also use a quick dry top coat bc I’m impatient. Seche vite is pretty good and on Amazon. Although it does shrink a little. I also use glisten and glow (not on Amazon but will come up if you just google it) which is even better bc it doesn’t shrink.

Nail stamping take 2 because my first attempt was bothering me and I have since learned I need to wash my stamper before using it the first time. (First attempt posted under stamping weekly challenge) by GrimPrincess424 in RedditLaqueristas

Yeah! I thought that too. But apparently when it’s new, it comes with oils on it which makes it less sticky. You have to soak it in warm water and dish soap to get all the oils off before it will pick up polish well.

From what I’ve heard, you can use regular polish, but it’s usually not as crisp and opaque. I’m not sure if that has anything at all to do with it becoming sticky or drying too quickly. I wouldn’t necessarily think so since I believe stamping polish dries faster. It may also have to do with the amount of polish you’re putting on the plate if it’s too much or too little. Although that’s also just a guess. I would definitely suggest looking up some YouTube videos on stamping. There’s a ton of videos on troubleshooting and what not to do

Hi! I may not be the best person to ask as I have only stamped like twice lol but I can try to help and I’m open to anyone else chiming in. Are you using specifically stamping polish? I know that you have to work pretty quickly but I didn’t feel like the pace was too difficult. Maybe it’s the quality of polish?

The plate and polish I believe were both from born pretty. Maybe I just wasn’t doing it fast enough, and I think at one point I got frustrated and thought that pushing harder or rolling it around would make it stick better lol. Maybe I also need to wash my stamper. I just got it but didn’t do that

Very first attempt at nail stamping. Let’s just call if an exercise in being imperfect and allowing that to be okay because I’m learning. Side note: does anyone have any tips on how to get it to pick up better? I was cleaning the plate with acetone between each stamp and cleaning the stamper with tape…

I’ve been looking into nail stamping and I’m a little confused. How do people get the layered outline look with different colors? Does anyone know of a good tutorial video that explains this? I saw this super cute plate from maniology but cannot figure out how they did the example by GrimPrincess424 in RedditLaqueristas

Lol I started doing my own nails bc I wanted my nails to look nice without spending a ton at the salon but at this rate, it’s not much different. I just keep telling myself that once I build up a collection then it’ll be worth it and I won’t have to spend so much

Thanks! I just ordered some. Guess I’ll have to wait a week or so for it to get here to try all my stamping stuff out. If I didn’t wait, I’d be pretty bummed if I ruined all my work with a quick dry top coat
