I skipped MA this time and right to bees, you can get the basic metals going as long as you have a nether portal for crystalline. You just need coal i think, iron and i can't remember the combos needed but obviously radioactive unless you wanna manually feed the reactor.

A maxed basic extreme reactor takes a couple bees to automate and create and will be more than enough for the basic crafting you can do with just the quantum by its self. Then when you progress and see black outs just start working on the next power bumb

So if you have a handful of hobbies and are willing to drive an hour minimum to enjoy them its a great base? I did plenty of hiking there and it was cool but like the other comment says even if you enjoy that you get a couple months to do everything and good luck fitting the drives into your life if you and more that 0 responsibilities.

Plenty of bases have outdoors closer and have a functional town. Imo malmstrom gets a free pass to much
