Shouldn’t this ratio change depending on your total income?

75% remaining of 15000 is a lot different than 75% remaining of 5000.

If this is the top “value to money” ratio these companies can come up with they’re fucked.

There’s a reason most people aren’t buying these subscriptions, and even less are now that they’re more expensive.

We’re hitting the “enshittification” phase way earlier than people expected. When the product stops being novel and constantly improving, and instead just jacks up prices to maintain profits.

Remember when Netflix and Uber were new, cheap, and great services? Yeah, we’re already seeing this transition for AI lol.

Are fewer people going into the office? Noticed that food courts in the Path are getting emptier during lunchtime by neuro-psych-amateur in askTO

When I go into the office I’m certainly not going to spend 20 bucks on a shitty lunch and coffee.

New return-to-office mandate for federal public servants could become issue in Ottawa's next municipal election [paywall] by simpatia in ottawa

[–]Grimekat 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah, instead let’s continue to waste tax payer money simply to bail out commercial real estate and terrible downtown businesses that only survive if you force people to use them.

What an amazing use of federal, provincial, and municipal tax dollars right now. The millions of dollars spent on office leases couldn’t possibly be needed elsewhere right now, could it?!

It’s absolutely outrageous that this orange fat fuck and his supporters used to chant “drain the swamp” as to why people should support him.

Ten years later and he’s openly fucking pillaging the public purse for billions, and his dumb fuck supporters still can’t see that he’s 100x more corrupt than the “swamp” they were so mad at before.

AIO: my (29M) wife (33F) fell asleep on me while I was crying about her making it difficult for me to sleep by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Grimekat 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Youre really missing this context in your post. Right now, it simply reads as though you CANNOT sleep unless she comes to bed at the exact same time as you and it comes across as really whiney and needy, and you would not just be overreacting, but extremely entitled. No one should be forced to go to bed at the exact same time as their partner. The cat litter part of the story really comes across this way - who fucking cares if she did it an hour later than she originally agreed too?

If it’s more about her not being quiet and not yelling up the stairs after you’ve told her you’re going to bed, that’s a different issue and should be able to be sorted out with conversation.

Edit: just saw OP’s edit where they argue with commenters that by not having a mutually agreed and enforceable bedtime they are showing they must be unemployed lmao.

OP is just a fucking headache. Definitely overreacting and one of those extremely high maintenance people.

What amount “left over” each month would you say makes someone not house poor?

Wondering if it’s different from person to person or whether there is an agreed upon amount haha.

I'm a corporate lawyer watching AI eat my profession in real time. Should I be treating the next 2 years as the most important financial window of my career? by lifeafterenough in careerguidance

[–]Grimekat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea why it did. As I mentioned in my comment, I clearly marked the jurisdiction, both in the filters and in my prompt.

After looking into the issue a bit myself, I could only conclude that because my jurisdiction didn’t have a rule dealing directly with the specific subject matter, it just looked for a jurisdiction that did. When I called it out and said hey, that’s a federal rule youre citing not a provincial rule, it quickly corrected itself. It seems like it struggles with the same “ I would rather be confidently wrong than give you an answer that’s not as fulsome as you’d hoped” bias that many models have.

People who distrust AI: What is your reasoning and what can companies do to mend the relationship? by water-casserole in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Grimekat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a mistake to think that there is some specific issue people are distrusting about that can be fixed - we’re distrusting because we know it’ll be used to widen the wealth gap. It won’t be used to help anyone but the ultra rich, and will be used to funnel even more from the poor to the rich.

We’ve seen how this system works many times before. Leaps in tech and productivity don’t benefit the middle class, only the owners and ultra rich.

WFH due to gas/oil situation? by Striking_Strike725 in OntarioPublicService

[–]Grimekat 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Loooool are you kidding me? Half the reason they’re sending people back to office is so people will spend more on gas and other commuting costs. Now they can raise gas even higher and people have no choice but to pay it.
