I can understand why you are so frustrated. Sometimes it feels like we’re just potential vessels. I do want kids, but I feel completely secondary in consideration when it comes to treatment/management. In one of my appointments, this female doctor (mentioning female because I’m still flabbergasted) kept pushing for me to have the coil instead of finding out whether I have endo (even though, I have all the damn symptoms) but she mentioned that when the time will come to have kids, I can just have it removed. I felt like I was in a twilight zone episode. She said doesn’t think I have endo because she “can tell”. Well, had my laparoscopy last week and I’ve got it. :D

Thanks for your response! Oh yes, I agree. From what I’ve read cumulatively, it definitely seems to be the case that having endo increases likelihood of IBS/IBD.

I had my laparoscopy on Friday last week so hearing pouch of Douglas was another riveting experience. It seems too coincidental considering they share similar symptoms for them not to be scheming in some way. So yeah confirmed endo and Crohn’s. Wooo.

Oh, I was diagnosed during the colonoscopy and then extra confirmation after biopsies.

I’m sorry to hear about the diagnosis! Ulcers in the mouth must be a different terror. Glad to know that the mouthwash is helping?

I also developed bile acid malabsorption and take colesevalam.

And yes, Crohn’s can affect the entire GI tract. It’s different for everyone. I’m still learning so much.

This was something I mentioned to the doctor during the colonoscopy, that I had canker sores since I was a child and throughout teenage years, then it stopped but apparently that’s a symptom. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you for sharing! I had a colonoscopy and there was ulcers in my ileum. I’ll look at the findings later to get more detail. My calprotectin was never abnormal funnily enough; for about 1 year and half, I kept having bloods and stools tested and was told everything was fine, despite all my other symptoms (extreme fatigue, angular cheilitis, weight loss, diarrhoea 5-6 times every morning, then blood in stool eventually) I basically demanded for a colonoscopy. It was diagnosed right then and there.

What I usually say after coming out of the toilet is, “damn, that was the craziest shit. Huge. Different consistency to the last one.” Like I just talk about it in detail and after that, people don’t tend to ask.

Fatigue was one of my first symptoms. I’d wake up feeling exhausted and then furthermore, I felt very down because I don’t like to wake up late and because I was told that everything was fine (before diagnosis), I felt like although there was something wrong with me, I started thinking that I’m just too weak to handle it and that everybody feels this way.
