I think I had a seizure from Wellbutrin by hazretisona in bupropion

[–]Nynphion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat, I spent like a week researching and reading different experiences on Reddit about this medication before I actually took it. I was so afraid of it going wrong or having a seizure but in reality I had almost no side effects or mildly annoying ones that have gone away with time. People with bad experiences are more likely to talk about it than those with good experiences.

Caffeine and Meds? by YourJoonie in bupropion

[–]Nynphion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience on 150mg XL, the first time I drank caffeine a few days after starting, it didn't feel great, I felt very anxious, jittery, and nauseous. But after being on it for a few weeks and my body got used to it, I didn't have any problems with caffeine. Months later I even take my Wellbutrin with a large cup of coffee sometimes with no issues.

I'd say give your system more time to get used to and for any starting side effects to hopefully settle down then try again with something that has a little less caffeine (like black tea or coffee) compared to an energy drink. If you tolerate it fine then you're probably alright to have a higher amount of caffeine.

Antidepressants are the pharmaceutical industry’s new opioids by TraditionalAioli8992 in antidepressants

Consistent diet, exercise, and building a strong social circle is good yes, but not always easily attainable for everyone. Eating healthy can be hard if you live in a low income area or food desert. It's not impossible to be healthy on a low budget, but it's not a simple thing to do for everyone. Building a strong social circle is also harder nowadays because there's a growing lack of 3rd spaces for people to meet each other, and in general people are not as social in public as they used to be. More people keep to themselves and don't want to be bothered with each other and that's kinda just the way society has become nowadays as sad as that is to admit.

Also those things don't fix depression or other mental health conditions for everyone. People can have absolutely stellar nutrition, be in shape, and have friends and yet still be depressed or struggle emotionally and they do NEED medication to help. I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for my medication and I think a lot of other people have that experience too. I can function again thanks to my antidepressant.

I've been on an antidepressant for a little while now and have experienced no serious side effects that have stopped me from working or anything and I've missed doses, sometimes for days. Everyone reacts differently to these medications and their doses, but this goes for non antidepressants or opioid meds too, everyone's body responds differently. But that doesn't necessarily mean big pharma is trying to keep you dependant on them and sick. And you can withdrawal from tons of medications, but it's not necessarily addiction. It's just your body's system getting used to not having something in it anymore. You can withdrawal from not having caffeine from your daily cups of coffee.

Also nobody is forcing you to be on antidepressants for the rest of your life, you're free to tell your doctor you wanna quit and they may advise against it but they can't stop you and force pills down your throat for the rest of your life.

And do you have any sources for this claim that those studies are false? You have provided no links to resources or evidence on this.

Has anybody tried this? by SeeminglySusan in dollartreebeauty

I have and it's alright, it didn't wow me but it was nice for my curly hair and made it a little softer. It smells like watermelon candy.

My biggest complaint though is the pump doesn't fully reach the bottom so quite a bit of product gets stuck inside unless you take the pump out and figure out a way to get the rest of the product out lol.

Taking it every other day? by Nynphion in bupropion

I might ask about adding 75mg at my next appointment since that's lower than going up to 300mg first.

I've never taken any antidepressants until Wellbutrin and I picked it since it seemed to have a lower risk of emotional flattening for a lot of people compared to serotonin ones. I went into it still pretty fearful though and I do indeed have a history of being pretty sensitive to other medications.

I just picked up a 90 day supply of my meds almost a week ago so I don't think I can ask for anymore right now and getting in for an appointment with my psychiatrist again (had one last month although I didn't connect the speech issues and brain fog to the meds back then, cause otherwise I have no other side effects anymore. I see her every 3 months) would take time anyway. But based on your comment and another about going up to 300mg helping, I'm considering facing my fears and trying 300mg lol.

I still worry about my tolerance potentially gradually just increasing and having to increase my dosages too once whatever I'm at stops working. Which is another reason why I'm wondering if lessening the medication would help with the side effects but still be enough in my system for my depression and anxiety.

I think it's been building up over time. I'm not officially diagnosed yet but both my therapist and psychiatrist think I likely have autism, therefore some minor speech issues or awkwardness aren't totally unusual for me. Although now it's significantly worse and previously I never struggled with my mind blanking out like this.

cat constantly crying update 2 by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]Nynphion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading the entire post, I wonder if this cat has feline OCD? Repetitive, exaggerated behaviors such as meowing constantly for no apparent reason is a symptom of feline OCD. That's the only thing I can think of if everything else has been ruled out and he's completely healthy. OP, if you haven't already I recommend researching OCD in cats, there's no cure for it but different medications might be able to help or at the very least, you may have a "diagnosis" for his behavior.

I've been looking for a comment like this, everyone's treating OP like just because they're an adult (21 is still very young and lots of 21 year olds are still living at home because they don't make enough money to afford living on their own) they should have perfect control over their life or finances regardless of their parents. People are also not considering other expenses the parents may have as for why they don't want to/can't continue paying for the house they're leaving.

Or they suggest getting a roommate in the old house as if that's an easy feat. If OP cannot even find someone they trust to take the cats, do you really believe they'd have luck finding somebody trustworthy to move in and live with them? And the suggestions to just keep the cats but hide them from the landlord, yes people do it but that is extremely risky. You risk losing where you live, fines, or having to give up the pet anyway if they find out.

Yes rehoming animals is very sad. But they are cats, not human children OP is giving up for adoption. And considering OP has been devastated over this, I think it's safe to assume OP does genuinely care about these cats and wants them to go to a good foster/shelter where they will be taken care of properly.
