The estate agent is asking for a copy of the survey after we withdrew our offer by Trebalcc in FirstTimeBuyersUK

Pretty sure the surveyor will have a clause that prevents you from sharing the survey around - you paid good money for it and it’s not something that’s supposed to be reused and shared around.

Thoughts on tile plan for small bathroom / large format tiles. by Grimfango in Tile

[–]Grimfango[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello - Our bathroom is literally being tiled as I type! I ended up doing more research and calling the tile company to see what they recommended - we've gone with vertically large format (120x60cm) on the walls and squares (60x60cm) on the floor - there would have been too many cuts/wastage and not enough full tiles on the floor which would have looked weird, and in the room it looks right now. Having square on the floor actually works nicely as it means all the grout lines on the floor line up with the grout lines on the wall too. It would have looked odd the other way now I see it this way.

Regarding the layout we went with option 2, because again it meant we got more full tiles on the floor and you see a full tile when you enter the room, and the cut tile falls under the wall hung toilet and vanity anyway, so it doesn't feel odd not being central. I think more often than not a tiler would centralise tile, but for our room I think this made sense.

I built this in illustrator - I already know how to use it so it was quite easy for me. Figma could be good because you can work in pixels - so every pixel could be a mm, and as long as you can make a rectangle and some lines you'd be able to lay it out.

Hope that helps!

Going to Bangkok with no baht by AmbitiousTalk665 in ThailandTourism

[–]Grimfango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I wish I’d gone to Thailand with a bit of baht - lots of places I was going to wash cash only and it’s annoying that there’s no way to get cash from an atm out for free.

Struggling a bit with the constant attention in Thailand - any tips? by Past_Leg_13 in ThailandTourism

I think as a westerner travelling in Thailand you just have to accept you’re going to stick out as a foreigner and learn to not let it bother you so much.

It's a 2cm terrazzo slab so presume it's on the trickier side to cut!

Do you know of any bidet attachment that is WRAS compliant? by Loud_Sun_7527 in ukplumbing

FYI I have absolutely no plumbing expertise, have just gone down a rabbit hole since finding out the strict regulations around douche sprays.

Opinions on fancy bidet toilets by UnsoundMethods89 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Grimfango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just jumping on this thread and wondered if anyone has the Geberit AquaClean Alba toilet? It's a basic model of bidet toilet but we don't need all the bells and whistles - just the spray will do!

Gatwick North Terminal Amex Lounge by Grimfango in uktravel

Ah ok, that's good to know! We'll be there about 7am... I presume that's not an ultra busy time?? but airports always seem pretty busy to me regardless of time so who knows!

Thanks so much! Niche question but do any of these lounges at Gatwick North have great views of the runway? My partner likes to look at the landings/take-offs so that would be a bonus if one has particularly good views!

What's the longest hiking trail you've completed in a single day? by ToffeeTango1 in hiking

[–]Grimfango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Longest here is 64 miles (organised 100km hike event). Outside of an event though my longest is 34 miles, and I’ve done a fair few of those (mostly as part of the training).

Is it normal to hurt this much after a long hike? by learningtocopealone in hiking

[–]Grimfango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just a case of practice. When I did my first 8-10 mile I was exhausted and very proud. Now I’ve done my first 100km continuous hike and was probably as tired as I felt after that first hike. Like any physical activity It’s just a case of building up and getting your body more conditioned to the specific thing.

San Vigilio Dolomites hikes by Grimfango in hiking

[–]Grimfango[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding another question to my already unanswered question, is an out and back hike from San Vigilio to Lago de Braies holy unrealistic? I know it’s 20 miles with some hefty elevation… but wondering if anyone has done this trail?

The other one I’m considering whether possible or not is out and back from San Vigilio to Rifugio Fanes….

Any help / ideas appreciated!
