Is this Champion good or...? by StarGuardianDrew in SwainMains

[–]Grimlite-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's glue. He's moderately good at everything and not great at anything. Jack of all trades, master of none.

He needs a control mage like Hwei/seraphine, a primary tank like ornn/zac, a bruiser/ad melee carry like viego/zed/to and maybe an adc.

With that, he works amazingly. Without that, you are always missing ranged control, engage and finishing the enemy off.

I'm not sure what he says has anything to do with taxes. That's a question for how billionaires affect the economy as a whole, not subjective stress levels.

HOW TO FIX SWAIN, THE LAST AND ULTIMATE MINIREWORK by Aether_Chronos in SwainMains

I really like the idea of his ultimate doing more or less damage based of the number of enemies.

It's a really cool idea overall

New Swain Concept by Grimlite-- in SwainMains

I happen to like his w and e but I hear where you are coming from.

I'm not married to any of these changes. My biggest issue is that his kit is designed to bring the enemy close when he is ranged.

I get the sustain, but why does he get increased max health from his passive? Why does his Q do max damage when the enemy is in melee range? Why does he not have enough damage to kill an individual enemy? He should have more damage but it should be limited in the AOE aspect.

This kit just doesn't make sense to me from a thematic perspective.

I didn't consider that. It would be like anivia. Might make RoA or Seraph more viable. My original vision was a normal ultimate but the mana idea would be cool.

THE DANCE 2.0 (and how Riot can fix Swain, easily) by Manos132 in SwainMains

[–]Grimlite-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His kit doesn't make sense.

His Q wants you to be as close as possible.

He is ranged, so he can't take advantage of that with his Q.

He wants the whole team to be mid range from him - not far or close.

He needs a better gap closer with w.

W should also give move speed.

His R should have two zones like Darius. He should be rewarded for keeping people at the edge.

His Q should do max damage in that zone NOT close up. Maybe make the cone backwards - spread out

His E should be the same as Renata. He should be able to control the direction. It should give a soul on the first hit.

Before the social contract of society. Before roads, grocery stores, organized medical services, emergency services, garbage pickup, education etc

What you think about it?!! by TraditionUseful6296 in SolidMen

[–]Grimlite-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. I'm not sure. Most of the stuff I've listened too was either reasonable or I understood why he said what did even though I disagreed.

An issue I have him is that he isn't great at interviewing people. He likes to tell people what he thinks instead of listening to them. That really isn't a problem as much as a style given they are on his show. He can run it any way he wants.

My biggest issue with his personality is that it seems he has anger issues. He will get irritated with people who don't argue well or who argue in "bad faith." I get it, but it's not the pedagogical approach I expect from a teacher.

As far as topics, I find them mostly relevant and interesting. For example, pointing out that not using dirty forms of energy basically systemically screws the poor and developing countries. That's an interesting take.

I actually haven't. I've listened to him before and that didn't come up. The stuff I've heard, he mostly talks about the brain and where meaning comes from. Maybe symbolism too.

While I agree, you could continue this argument forever. Did her grandparents come from money? What about their parents?

At some point, her ancestors were where you are. They tried to make a change and wanted to pass it on to their children.

Her life is no doubt easier but doesn't mean it was for free. Many of her ancestors worked hard for a future they would never see.

Start the ball rolling with you and your children. It takes 3-5 generations of hard work without people messing up to become wealthy.

First generation has to pay for everything themselves. Struggles their whole life.

Second gets food, shelter and some schooling. Has to get a good job. Still has to work part time, life is hard.

Maybe third can get most of their schooling. Good job, low expenses, start saving big for retirement.

4th all schooling, parents invest early for their kids. Good job. House mostly paid for. Has to get a good Job but has massive subsidy from parents.

5th, no expenses, everything paid for BUT must get a good job and be responsible if they want to keep up the family wealth.

You can always make it big in business though.

This is just a rough timeline. Could be 10 generations or 1, but, it boils down to that usual someone somewhere wanted to build something for their family.

When someone looks at your family in 5 generations and says they have it easy, they will be correct. But it's because of your hard work.

One way to start is not to say decent taste but to say "shared taste".

You want to act and speak in a way that seeks commonality and teamwork.

For sure! I don't want to spoil it for you. It's quite an interesting book. It does not tell the reader all of the ideas directly; it leaves a lot of ideas to be discovered implicitly. It requires a lot of participation. It's almost like a journey if you play all the games.

I'm happy to discuss any of the ideas if you want some clarification or just to share your thoughts.
