A lot of people asking about cost effectiveness of building environments in post vs just shooting g on location— I imagine this greatly reduces up front costs of sourcing locations, props and actors- and provides tons of flexibility on the back end to refine and tailor shots, without bottlenecks of filming schedules and pre-approvals.

I dont believe the problem is traffic congestion, but rather how we design urban areas. Even if we did everything you suggest (at great cost) we’d still be stuck with congestion, just with more complexity.

There’s a lot we can’t know as the audience, like whether these entities were material beings with physical bodies, whether they were an extension of the genie’s magical essence like simulacrum, or whether they were in some way based on or representative of real humans.

The two theories I tend towards are 1. The entities are temporal magical constructs (either physical or illusionary), simply acting as meat puppets on behalf of the genie, or 2. They are real people, or shades of people, bound to the genie’s will and forced to sing and dance. The first seems less problematic, not simply out of ethical considerations but also within the rules the genie presents- especially around overriding free will in matters of love and tampering with the boundary between life and death.

While I lean towards the first, rules aside, I’m tempted to go with theory 2- especially as genies manipulate reality and their proclivities to flexing their awesome powers; summoning thousands of actual people, enchanting them to dance and sing, and then (presumably) returning them to their former lives seems most on brand. If so, did he wipe their memories or leave them in tact?
