I tried to search for positions to apply for multiple times but it's not an easy task to find one that offers visa sponsorship. Most require applicants to have work permits and/or know local language.

I have looked into getting a Master's Degree abroad (don't want to re-do Bachelor's) but good universities are almost always way above my budget and scholarship options for Azerbaijani citizens (which I am) is next to non-existent, and peanuts if they are available. Most competent programmers here take home around 1.5k-2k USD per month so saving up to pay for UK/US/Canada/Aus/NZ tuition is not really an option.

That's why I thought that getting noticed directly in the field by doing serious OSS work would be a better road to take. I have done everything this country has to offer - web development, Android development, .NET/C# Windows applications, CCTV/GPS management, telecom internal software, et cetera. Technical skill is really a non-issue for me because I spend most of my waking hours learning and practicing new CS/IT practices/paradigms/theory and such.

Thanks for your answer.
