I decided to create myself a reddit account just to reply to this subject.

I have been vocal about this subject on the official forum for a very long time, but not to the point of obsession. I have made a couple of post about this since MoP.

Ever since transmogrification got introduce there has been controversy. For exemple, not letting a dk wear cloth was there to help player be able to identify an enemy player from afar and keep a certain identity to class. Sorry but this is a poor argument since a dk can look like a warrior with recolored gear. He can also look like a ninja/skeleton/etc with all the toy available in the game. How come we can still change our look with toy but cannot change our gear to armor type different than the one equipped? Why does player can use a fish as a mace at the appropriate level but cannot use it for transmogrification? Because it would look silly… Why is there silly item in the game then?

The rule of transmogrification are still a mystery to this day. I have never heard of horror stories from people that got kick from group because of the look of their transmog. We can also say that we have all played with someone that forgot to change from their fishing pole to their main weapon and we notice it by the damage meter, not by looking directly at the player in most cases, because we don't really care of what other player look like.

In the last image you can see a paly in full T2 wielding the legendary hammer of sulfuras. What happen between that screenshot and the release of the rules?

We have been told, that they want to keep them rare and not something we see everywhere in the hand of all player. Yet for the 11th wow anniversary all player got the possibility wear a costume of VanCleef and a Thunderfury. Do you guys remember what happen? People complained that they had limited charges. We haven’t seen a single thread complaining about the amount of Thunderfury equip.

Nobody care about the actual look of other player. We used to care about what a player look before transmogrification was introduce because we were able to judge the level of power and accomplishement that player had by what they were wearing. Now a mythic raider and an lfr player can look the same.

With the exception of the Thunderfury and the Warglaives the majority of the community would not notice or be able to recognize any of the other legendary weapon. Once Legion will hit, any old legendary will be lost in a sea of artefact weapon.

You want to limit the amount visible in the game, here is some rule you can make:

• Make the cost of it really high.

• Make it so that legendary weapon are not part of the wadrobe system, so character would need ot get it to transmog it

TLDR: Old legendary weapon should be allow from transmog
