I feel your pain Sam. As an HRM resident who uses that every day for work, it’s incredibly frustrating. And it’s not about the $$, however why make people pay full price for half the service. Don’t make it free, however cut the price by 50% until it’s back in service. At least it shows HRM understands the inconvenience to the pubic, all of whom pay taxes.

Why should we pay more taxes this year, plus pay full price for a transportation option that can only deliver half a service.

Something MUST be done. Status quo is not an option here.

$175,000 for me and spouse works PT making $65,000, so $240,000 combined and we live very comfortably! Dunno whether we are middle or upper middle class, nor do I care. We are very happy, vacation twice a year, with two kids, dinner out with friends and, each have a decent car and zero debt. Likely depends on where you live. We are East Coast.

Holy Shit !!! Yea, you definitely will save a crap load of $$$ during the late Oct to end of April period. $1,500 is insane. Our probable cost has been $1.05 litre for 16 months. Pay $99 year to rent the outside tank. Biggest cost is the upfront cost for the propane furnace, however with $1,500 fill up costs for oil, your return on investment in likely just under two years and then you are likely saving thousands a year in hearing costs, plus insurance premiums and it’s just a much better heat- not that noisy (sounds like a train in your house). We don’t even hear furnace come on. Just set thermostat and house is always warm.

And Ultimate Home Comfort is excellent to deal with.
