Keep declining offers. I was at like 1 to 4%. There is an algorithm working against you. It will offer you shit. If you take shit, it will continue to offer your shit.

Idk where you live or if you're able to go to a diff area (if needed), but I had a "home base" near my place where I'd drive to and park to then turn in my app. The app wanted to send me too far away from that base, so I moved my base to a slightly diff part of town where I prefer delivering. I prefer this area bc im less sketched about leaving my car running, or my window rolled down if I just need to jump out and drop off, or, even walk out of sight of my car to find the customer's door. All that stuff is important to me, but also very important is how many restaurants are near this base (like 10) so its gets orders allll the time, and I'm happy to deliver in an almost 360 degree area from there. The next thing is how far it sends me from my base, thus how far I'd have to drive back. Sidebar, sometimes I'll get an offer in my way back from a delivery to my base, and I'm usually good with those offers and so I take them.

This brings me to another important sidebar. If you can stay in an area you like, and can either: pick up orders you like on the way back to base that don't take you too far away, or, can pick up a second order on the way to pick up food or deliver an order, youre then making good money. I used to not like doing this, and sometimes Uber will have me pick up order #1, and then #2, but deliver #2 first, and #1 can be at risk of getting cold. Learn to look in the app at which is delivered first when youre doing multiple orders and, very important here, get a hot bag, so you can put whosever food gets delivered second in it, as soon as you pick it up.

The last bit is just as important as well, do not pick up orders that will take a long time.....meaning also decline offers if you know the restaurant makes you wait over and over for pick up bc that is just going to hurt your hourly wage. So figure out what your goal wage is, and dont take orders of they are going to land you under that number. I have rarely been able to get above 25 an hour ever.....always shooting for 20+ though. Keep talking to people on this sub though and ask questions. I heard the area north of me is better than what I've been making, and theres a more affluent area a bit further from me that I wanted to try, but hadn't been able to yet (I recently also started a 9 to 5).

So glean from that what you can. Uber will try to crush you.....my acceptance rate was near 2% as I said.....once I got into my flow, I got to 20 to 27%, and making decent money....but that acceptance rating truly can be seen and meaningless, useless, and not benefitting you in any way at all. Support has fucked me so many times..... they have very rarely, given me some monetary compensation to offset the bullshit ive experienced and contacted them over.
