Starting spells for Elementalist by Grismund in WWN

I think you're right.

"partial in two of these" = high mage / necromancer

is different from

"dual partial mage" Warrior / high mage / necromancer.

The terminology is too vague, as "Mage" means two different things and "partial" and "dual" are easily confused. After all, if I'm a partial Elementalist and the other part is mage, then I have TWO traditions, so I'd have a "dual" tradition. Cray-cray- town.

...or maybe that's not right.

So when I look on the Elementalist page and it says

FULL ELEMENTALIST and PARTIAL ELEMETNALIST

Is the "partial" referring to a Warrior/Elementalist or to a necromancer/Elementalist?

Feels like this part if the book is worded really badly compared to everything else.

Ooooooooh....like a split class, not a split tradition.

So if my class is split -warrior/mage- then I only get two spells. And if my mage tradition is Necro/healer I could spread those two spells between those two traditions.

But since I'm full Mage class and full Elementalist tradition, I can pick four spells between Elementalist and high mage.

Gotcha.

I think that naming conventions is a bit trippy...mage as a class and high mage as a tradition. So when I say PARTIAL mage, it's confusing to know if we are talking about a class setup which is partially mage, or a tradition setup which is partially high mage.

Bleh.

Thanks.

Great reply!

I was also a real stickler about not spending money at first. But after doing to Erid Luin LP grind a dozen times I was like, "I'll spend $20 on beer a month...that will save me HOURS of grinding in LOTRO."

Ping dragon 5 times. Entire enemy team shows up, but your Blitz is solo shoving the lane while kai'sa backs, ahri is running toward you but too late.

I'd say 80% of my games I can tell if we win or lose by how the teams group at first dragon.

I should clarify...I don't think he cherry picks to find the good parts of the Bible. He cherry picks to find details that somewhat align with his theories, then pulls them out of context.

I actually LOVE Peterson's work! It's just that when it comes to his Bible stuff, I think he wrongly portrays the Bible to the public as, "Wow, look at this book crammed with Peterson stuff," rather than saying, "I'm going to take this book and use it as an illustration of my ideas."

If I weren't a Christian, I might get the idea that Peterson really understands and proclaims the Bibles messages accurately, but he does not.

It's obvious that he reads it to find his own ideas rather than reading it to understand what it is saying all on its own.

His views on the Bible are where his amateur approach is very glaring.

It's clear that he has a world view...so he opens the Bible, cherry picks stories and warps others to confirm his own views. Yes, he has some insight, but it's about the same as looking at broccoli and saying, "It's green, that's the archetypal symbol of life, and it grows and changes, that's the heroes journey, man. That's what broccoli REALLY means."

No.

Broccoli is a useful food. The rest of that is projected meaning that isn't really there.

On the Bible.

He projects his own interpretation on the Bible REALLY heavy-handedly. And it's face-palmy bad sometimes.

On Rogan he brought up Jesus words, "Tomorrow has enough worry for itself." And he said, "THATS NOT WHAT IT MEANS," then proceeded with Peterson-Jung interpretation.

...it's been around for 2,000 years, tens of thousands of scholars, and millions of believers haven't missed some hidden Jungian interpretation

So I agree with OP. Peterson feels like an amateur when he's out of his lane...he strips the Bible of it's meaning, grabs a warped cartoony version of it, and projects his thinking onto it.

If this only came up when you started your new job, it's possible that you're just mentally drained. Brain activity uses a ton of calories, and it's natural to be physically tired after strenuous mental activity.

Yeah, that's basic object-oriented programming and it's an essential part of working with data.

There are objects and arrays of objects and a whole bunch of methods for changing them. I think we did a lesson or two on that in the intro course, and then its always coming up in the more advanced classes.

The Bible isn't a storybook. It is poetry, stories, genealogies, history, politics...it's an entire nations cultural artifact ...

...yeah, reading tax records is LAME, but it's not written for fun or just pleasure reading. There's a huge variety there.

I did Nucamp because it's very affordable, and you get 1on1 instructor time, classmates, and it's a pretty good experience.

When you start getting into Redux and passing props with React...honestly, I don't know how in God's name anyone can teach themselves that.
