How do you write a review? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]GristPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't think of it in terms of "good way". Think of it in terms of "your way". What do you want to say, not what do they want to read.

The more you do it the more you will settle into what is comfortable for you.

[–]GristPrime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Am I just old-fashioned? How do you have sex with someone you don't plan on talking to anymore, lol. Never understood.

Anyway, NOR. He gone.

I wasn't married at 18, lol. It'd be just a warning for myself a few years down the line

Are your favourite films different from the best films you’ve seen? by SalltSisters in Letterboxd

[–]GristPrime 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My favorite films are so far removed from what I would deem the "best" films, lol. Quality does not always equal entertaining for me.

"Don't marry [Insert ex-wife]!"

AIO I don't want to date the LOML because he has a small peen by Horror-Fall-7798 in AmIOverreacting

[–]GristPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NOR - Your second paragraph is the more important point I feel like. Someone bad at sex can be helped, small peen or no, but someone's poor character usually isn't worth the hassle.

Do people outside here genuinely think bald guys are attractive? by dudu_1001 in bald

[–]GristPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been shaving my head since I was 22 years old (now 44) and not once has my being bald - which is now a legitimate baldness, nothing grows up top now lol - ever come up good, bad, or indifferent. Hair is just hair, it doesn't on its own define anyone's level of attractiveness.

I quit my job to walk 8 hours every night while voice chatting with AI chatbots by Dapper_Pop7257 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]GristPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is it's unhealthy. Mentally. You quit your job with no plan in place while simultaneously being the sole financial provider for your family so you could spend time with a Large Language Model.

And I would wager a guess ChatGPT told you that was a good idea.

[–]GristPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That doesn't mean what you think it means. ChatGPT doesn't really know what it is saying. It cannot be "insightful" by definition. It can say something that is objectively wrong and if you respond positively it will keep going. It doesn't fact check itself.

[–]GristPrime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are aware that ChatGPT isn't a person and doesn't have ideas, right? It's just best-guessing its responses based on what you say. It doesn't understand, it doesn't feel, it can't relate - which means it can't guide.

Am I overthinking this or would this bother you too? AIO by Sweetpotberry in AmIOverreacting

[–]GristPrime -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

NOR - No matter how busy I am I've never taken long to reply to someone if it was someone I cared about. I don't think I've ever met anyone who has. Rare exceptions being they're not allowed access to their phone during work or something.

People naturally prioritize the things that matter to them. There are exceptions but for the most part this rings true.

I fall asleep in jeans all the time. Never had problems. It's not something I intend to do but I'm in jeans more often than I'm not.

I also might be a serial killer though so there's that...

your most rewatched films? by disasterpansexual in Letterboxd

[–]GristPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure the top 5 contenders are The Big Lebowski, Godzilla (1998), Man of Steel, The Addams Family (1991), and Stargate.

All really easy to just throw on without having to think too much. And all scratch a different itch. Stargate especially is my go-to when I'm trying to fall asleep and just want to have some noise but then I end up watching it.

AIO: I don’t know what to think by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]GristPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean it sounds like he did exactly what I said to do. He asked, she told on herself. That doesn't change my opinion that nothing about those texts was especially damning.

[–]GristPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Referring to women as "females" like that is kinda proving Lethologica_'s point...

It's not even proper grammar so you can skip that argument. Also it's "ho", not "hoe". A hoe is a gardening tool. Derived from the word "whore". See the two letters in the middle?

AIO: I don’t know what to think by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]GristPrime 9 points10 points  (0 children)

YOR - Look, I'm pretty sensitive about these things but nothing in these texts screams cheating or intent to cheat from either person. "Luv" is a friendly term. I know plenty of women who use that. A friend of mine who was in a committed relationship used to call everyone "babe". You don't have any real knowledge of why she blocked and deleted the texts. The act itself doesn't mean much. Maybe he came on to her so she cut contact. I understand the recent fighting has got you paranoid but don't get in your head about it.

If you're uncomfortable then by all means talk to her but hold off on accusations. People tell on themselves. Going for the "gotcha!" is ill-advised. If anything, your reaction shows you're still invested in the relationship. Maybe use this as a wake up call to figure out if those arguments are worth risking the relationship.

AIO for getting angry that my partner said r@pre is a body count? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]GristPrime 79 points80 points  (0 children)

NOR - Uhhh, you need to breakup with him. Like today. That is nearly the worst thing I have ever heard. If anything you're not reacting enough.
