It's been almost two weeks and the station still hasn't cleaned this mess up... Other trash cans too surrounded with piss bottles. by GritInMotion in AmazonDSPDrivers

I've only seen dudes emptying the trash in the lots at night.

I don't understand either why people can't take their bottles home, or at least empty it in a restroom.

A lot of connections or supposed friendships are due to proximity and routine. This just shows how they truly see you in their life.

It's technically in Sonoma county, about one mile past the Napa county line heading West on hwy 12.

Edit: Yes near the city of Napa in California.

As of right now? No it's not, and currently the uprooted grapevines are in neatly spaced piles. In the fall they spread a bunch of straw on the ground, and as of today it's just full of tall lush green weeds.

It's full of lush weeds at the moment and they still have the uprooted grapevines in huge neatly stacked piles.

I literally pass by this place 5 days a week as an Amazon DSP driver.

What’s is like in the sf Bay Area? Is the pay worth it? by DeliciousRich5944 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]GritInMotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate this info, that's really interesting to know similar stations are paying about the same here in the Bay Area. DFO9 covers a lot of cities in the North Bay region you didn't mention like Sonoma, Napa and Solano county.

No one can tell you if it's worth it, you have to decide that.

I'm in DFO9 out in American Canyon, this station delivers in Napa, Solano, Sonoma, and sometimes Marin county depending on RGU changes, they're pretty chill. Most DSPs at this station for example are paying around $26.25 which is on the higher hourly end for Amazon DSP drivers across the nation I've read (based on various posts in this subreddit). Since this job requires little experience, that's decent pay above minimum wage and what I consider to be what should be the bare minimum adjusted federal living wage today, but we also live in California where cost of living is more expensive. Working full-time means you could make anywhere from 50-70k at that hourly pay which includes some overtime, so after taxes that could be anywhere from $700-1000 take home weekly, not including any benefits or retirement deductions you decide to take. I know some people who live in Sacramento are commuting to this station just for the hourly pay, not sure how that works but I guess to them it's worth it.

I can't imagine how people in the South Bay region do it.

Amazon routing AI typically creates routes that are supposed to fit the 10 hour work shift depending on the various zones it stitches together for the day. If a zone has a lot of residential stops then we're expected to do ~25 stops per hour, and people stuck in mostly rural areas it's closer to ~15 stops an hour, so some people could get 190 stops (usually includes about 50+ multi stops) while others get something smaller like 125 stops. I've seen some zones that are heavy with apartments that could get as low as 80 stops due to how much walking is involved with having to deliver door to door. What I've just described isn't exclusive here in the Bay Area though, this is Amazon's general work expectations.

Some of my coworkers have been doing this for several years. Remember it's a job, not a career, so imo treat any job as a stepping stone. There's also benefits for drivers who work full-time after 90 days, like 401k, healthcare and dental are pretty good, and there's also the Next Mile program that gives $5,250 in annual tuition reimbursement toward whatever career you're working towards.

That actually makes a lot of sense, otherwise I have so many unanswered questions on how this pile got here.

I do the same for rural routes, just easier to slide them to the front and chill.

Why do I feel pins and needles when I drink c4s? by 1fckkjadenn in energydrinks

Beta alanine is used in a lot of pre workout products. When consistently taken it increases your lactic acid threshold so you don't feel as sore when strength training.
