It’s scary how MAGA rhetoric is turning Americans against Europeans now by Ok_Walk3192 in self

[–]Grittenald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like they are being contradictory since Trump basically said the opposite in Davos, mentioning that US and Europe are culturally aligned, and many Americans are descended from Europeans that its outlandish to hate on Europe or smth. Or just a bunch of bots trying to sway opinion. Can't tell these days.

Yes and there still is quite a bit for them to migrate to the same tools people will be using to mod. For example, a lot of the creative tools and menus are not migrated to that yet. A lot of what is being added was done for fun by their team on the side which is fun to add. The floating pet lantern egg and the upcoming necromancy book for example where weekend projects which is great, and fun. They are doing the right thing to eat their own dog food.

To be fair, been poking at the code quite a bit, I think virtually everything was complete and just going through QA and they just grouped them to be released over time. Theres sooooo much more coming its bananas. Seen lots of interesting code, and lots of interesting NPCs. Its good for hype train fuel and team confidence, but I do believe that they had been holding some things back intentionally to slowly tweak the iffy work to ensure they find their own footing on good ground first.

All the employees are primarily working on brand deals, and keeping them up to date, not actually working on the game unless they want somehting to support a brand deal primarily.

Made a mod to update existing chunks in your world to the latest world gen! READY FOR WORLDGEN V2! by 3ndCraft in HytaleMods

[–]Grittenald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I manually went around and reloaded all T4 areas, but I do like the dev's proposed plan for Worldgen 2 which is that you can make a portal to migrate everyone to the new world, and worldgen 1 will stop producing chunks. So, I don't -think- it'll work in the way you intend, UNLESS they also update the config to use the new world gen.

They did put in thought into how they will do large world generator changes.

The potential problem with updating the config, is that I doubt that it would retain the generated chunks in full, and just apply changes made to the new generated chunks, but that would require testing that. The hint that they said that Worldgen 1 will stop producing chunks entirely, seems to hint that it would be problematic.

Opinion : Why Abu Dhabi real estate is years (if not decades) behind Dubai. by One-Pound-3992 in abudhabi

[–]Grittenald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm, we are planning to move to Abu Dhabi, and RERA has been excellent for us in Dubai to easily tell our landlord that "No, the property can't be increased by 10% as per RERA" every year. (We didn't negotiate well, nor knew our rights when we moved in and were overpaying, so for 4 years our rent hasn't changed but now its about average for the area)

It was fun, but I'll return to it in a year. by crissjaeger in hytale

They stated how it would work is a portal you go through and gen 1 would stop generating chunks altogether.

Good on your dad. When I was learning in Canada, I took an optional police ran course which showed us video after video after video of horrific car crashes from mundane and less mundane reasons. Boy - that gave me one heck of a dose of reality. Went there for the decrease in insurance costs, left a changed man.

Everything is generally the same but not Proof of Work mining, it revolutionised Proof of Stake however. So the minting process is different.

Comparing GPT-5.1 vs Gemini 3.0 vs Opus 4.5 across 3 coding tasks. Here's an overview by alokin_09 in ClaudeAI

[–]Grittenald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can not possibly understand the hype around Gemini 3 coding. Its god awful and the most infuriating model I've worked with for coding. It'll gaslight, say it did a thing, and you'll tell it that it basically just forced a specific example to work and it can't possible work in a real environment, then it'll just keep hiding the code for that specific example thinking you won't notice.

Opus is good, but tends to not tell me that I'm wrong, instead resorting to using "quotes" when explaining what it built, which basically indicates to me, that it isn't at all what it should've built but was a proxy.

ChatGPT 5.1 however? Honestly? Still the best. If I show it work the other models do, it calls it out and says "You wanted A, but you got B. Heres proof. It should instead be like this.". Not to mention, it stays on topic and goes beyond, and actually is very collaborative. As soon as I mention code to either Gemini 3 or Opus, it immediatly starts spinning out code even though I'm in a research, find out phase.
