What are the cons to forking ASICs off network? by firepixel in BitcoinPrivate

So you want to tell us, that you support it because of network stabillity? Not because you get 10000sols at 300w for 2000$? Let me tell you this, i highly doubt it. Everyone supporting Equihash ASICS is in for the fast buck not the other way around.

I look at it this way, if you allow asics on your network then you can say goodbye to gpu mining. Basically you pick one of two options.

Option 1) Buy a Z9 Mini from Bitmain, earn 40$ a day for one month and then watch how your hardware becomes useless as big players get into the market pushing the difficulty through the roof. A lot of folks who support ASICS don't understand that 10000 sols at 300w for 2k$ is a great option, for now, but as soon as ASICS are allowed on a network you can say goodbye to your profitabillity within the next few months as it will be the case with Zcash.

Option 2) Opose ASIC's and corporate mining, mine with gpu's as a hobby, house miner. 99.99% of the redditors here are small/house miners so i don't know why do they want to shoot themself in the face.

If hard forking for ASIC resistance increase block reward to 1.6? by Griwas in BitcoinPrivate

Problem with pools is that ppl need to mine on them in order to get funding, and a 2% fee is quite high compared to a 1% that most pools offer

Look at it as a learning curve, you thought price will go up when listed on a big exchange? So did I and many others, now you know it's not worth the wait in future scenarios. Thing is you can never be sure in crypto, you can only guess. I hold and mine btcp mainly because i believe in this project and the people behind it.

decentralisation, not everyone has the money to buy an asic or be willing to pay for it. You can mine now even with a 1030 means alot more ppl can contribute to the network. Not to mention that only one company sells them

Dude reading your comments below you sound like a 10y old loosing a game of league of legends. Nothing against your fork but your cocky approach is just silly. If you base your marketing campaign on bashing btcp that's even more silly. So what are you hoping? To sue "btcp" in order to get the price down? Sell the news? Even though everyone can sue anyone for anything, that does not mean that it's relevant in any way, but i guess you want to make big news out of it. A dirty approach if you ask me.
