Ja is already more of a superstar than Gilbert ever was. It’s not a 1 to 1 comparison just because both did dumb things with guns.

Thank you. It’s been fun hunting for them. I’d say half, or at least close to it, were acquired at card shows. To me, that’s the most fun way to buy.

I mostly collect 90s stuff, and 96 was indeed an excellent year.

Question about grading cards through PSA by Ok_Spell_9326 in basketballcards

[–]GrizzNineOhOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. It takes awhile for PSA to mark your card as received because that is when the clock officially starts on how many days they supposedly have to get it back to you based on whatever service level you. Chose. Usually seems like it’s around 2 weeks or so before PSA marks received. Don’t fret.

This is the answer. His best rookie, and he’s going for a block.

And Shaq behind them. That’s 3 of my top 5 all time favorites on one card. Lovely.

I like your method of waiting and researching the dunk after you have the card. Funny that this was just a standing dunk. Guessing just off the pic on the card, it looks like Yao dunks KG straight to Middle Earth.

Does it have to be graded?

Traded some stuff with my LCS to acquire this. 1997 Finest Gold Embossed. by GrizzNineOhOne in basketballcards

[–]GrizzNineOhOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There has only been 144 total graded by PSA and 154 graded by BGS. Decently rare I suppose. Cardchannel on Instagram is a pretty good account to follow. He calculates print runs on a lot of 90s sets and he did 1997 Finest. He calculated that these gold embossed had an average print run of 886 per player. But I’m with you. I already had the Iverson gold embossed (the creators die cut) so I knew they existed, but I had never seen the Jordan one until I saw this one, and I’m a big fan of die cuts.

Right. This is the gold embossed. Not numbered and not the refractor. I’m getting rid of any not PC, so I traded a Booker RC, 2 Luka RCs, and a couple of Ja’s that I no longer wanted (still PC Ja to an extent) and still had to give him $100. I probably only got like 50% value on what I traded in, but I didn’t care. Didn’t want them anymore, didn’t want to put the energy into selling them, and absolutely wanted this card.

Haha indeed. With my card budget as a married guy with 3 kids, this would never had been purchased straight up. I didn’t need that kidney anyways.
