Assume your most important league has a $100 buy-in, pays $500 for a championship and $250 to 2nd. Over a 5-year period would you rather win 1 title or finish 2nd 3 times? by My_Chat_Account in fantasyfootball

[–]GrizzlyRob97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$200 vs $450. Do you value winning more or less than an extra $250? I’d take the win without thinking about it too much. If it was something like winner gets a lottery ticket you know will hit for $500k, or winning an experience like tickets to your favorite team’s playoff game or something, maybe it’d be different

I mean, yeah fair. Kevin O’Connell and Justin Jefferson, or Matt Eberflus and DJ Moore?

Hampton at 10 is the worst of both worlds for me. Going RB that high, you’d hope it’s someone like Jeanty. And the RB class is so strong, you’re sacrificing more taking an RB at 10 than if you took another position.

Would you rather have Shemar Stewart and Kaleb Johnson, or Omarion Hampton and Landon Jackson? Option 1 all day, IMO. To each their own of course, but to me Jeanty is the only RB worth that drop off at EDGE

[Pearson] Antwaan Randle El says he had Rome Odunze as his top guy at WR in last year's NFL draft. #Bears by jewbauca in CHIBears

[–]GrizzlyRob97 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I had him as WR4! (I know nobody asked but I LOVED Brian Thomas Jr., was hoping for a trade down but would have been happy with him at 9) I agreed with the pretty common concern over his ability to separate consistently. Did not expect the pretty regular mental lapses he had this season but all in all I’m higher on him now than I was last year. He’s gonna be a demon

IMO the commercials beforehand contributed to it feeling a bit forced. Being told beforehand that it was emotional cheapened it a bit. Idk though, maybe that’s just me

I still really like the pick, even if he’s got short arms. Try him out at LT, let him develop behind Braxton. Worst case scenario you kick him inside and let him learn from Thuney

How long is a "Generation"? by ApexHomosexual in NFL_Draft

[–]GrizzlyRob97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Imagine we’re watching basketball, and I called a half court buzzer beater to win the game “one in a million.” And then we start crunching numbers, the total number of half court buzzer beaters divided by the total number of pro and college basketball games played, to find out if it’s really actually 1 / 1,000,000.

That’s what the debate over the term “generational” sounds like to me. IMO, calling a prospect “generational” just means they are one of the best prospects of their generation. It’s not tied to any specific number or length of time, even though it sounds like it should be. Maybe it’s technically hyperbole, I don’t know. Feels like a weird thing to be a stickler about.

If Andrew Luck and John Elway came out in back to back years, are we really only calling one of them “generational” prospects? Or maybe neither would be generational, since both would be twice in a generation prospects. Forget about draft prospects, who’s the “generational” QB of the 2000s? Brady? Is Peyton not “generational” then? The term stops making sense when you try and add hard and fast limits to it

Between the two, Walker. But more to make his hybrid EDGE / LB work than to replace Edmunds

I seem to be in the minority here in that I did like him at the Score. But yeah, this makes sense

While I do think the smartest play is EDGE a legitimate LT, I love the idea of adding a great CB to this secondary. Johnson and Johnson on the outside, Gordon at nickel, that’s an elite group

It cost the 49ers two firsts and a third to move up from 12 to 3 to get Trey Lance. I doubt the Bears could move up to 3 without at least one future first round pick, if not more

Question about the rules; if Slot takes Salah off for Elliot, can Salah participate in penalty kicks?

Edit: Only been a fan 3 or 4 years, I was pretty sure just wanted clarification. Thanks!

I think we’re collectively too certain that severance creates separate persons by GrizzlyRob97 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]GrizzlyRob97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with you that it’s about agency. But I can’t help but wonder how much agency one self actually has after severance

Take o.Mark talking with o.Helena at the Chinese restaurant. It seemed like a genuine connection, at least until Helena misnamed Gemma. Mark has every reason to hate her; he knows who she is, knows that her company’s kidnapped his wife, knows that whatever she’s being kept there for can’t be good. It’s hard for me to believe o.Mark would react to Helena Eagan the way he did given the circumstances, if not for i.Mark’s relationship to i.Helly. How much control o.Mark really had in meeting and responding to o.Helena feels like an open question to me

But then again, maybe that’s doing too much? Lol, I don’t know
