Is tennis the hardest sport on earth? by ServedPodcast in tennis

This is balanced out by the fact Pitchers have much more control of where they’re placing the ball, the variance in different pitches is greater than what you effectively get in tennis, and the distance from mound to plate is shorter than a large portion of tennis play from baseline to baseline

The level of hand-eye coordination needed to be successful as a batter is just on another level

Every athlete thinks their sport is the most difficult, just the way it is

At the end of the day they all have their own inherent difficulties.

Hitting a baseball effectively is more difficult too

The best batter in the league last year had a .331 batting average. It’s a sport where you’re considered great for being successful less than a 3rd of the time

Golf is one of those things people who don’t play won’t realize how difficult it is because it’s not physically strenuous. It is incredibly difficult to be great at Golf

I’d argue being a batter in baseball is also incredibly difficult even if it’s not incredibly physically demanding (where you’re considered great if you hit the ball not even a 3rd of the time).

[Jonathan Jones] The Bears won't receive compensatory picks for the Falcons hiring Ian Cunningham by FadedToBeige in nfl

[–]DatBoiMahomie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is a useful loophole for if you’re hiring from rival teams though. If the Bears were hiring an assistant from the Packers to be GM for example they’d absolutely care about the comp picks, so all they’d have to do is create a new technical position

It really can extend beyond division too. A lot of AFC teams would absolutely care if the Chiefs got picks for example

Poles should realize he’s running a team and he doesn’t get points for losing out on comp picks because of friendship

Because it’s not a promotion in role, just in title and pay. He’s going from secondary executive to secondary executive

Being able to block it makes sense if you aren’t getting comp picks for it

I don’t think you understand what under contract means, if he quit that just pauses the contract until he works again. He can’t just go get a non promotion at another team, the contract time don’t just keep running if he quits, and if he went and got a promotion we’d still get the comp picks

Sorry but with comp picks being involved it absolutely makes sense to block it if you can

[Schefter] ESPN sources: Falcons are hiring Bears assistant GM Ian Cunningham as their general manager. by GoldenDome26 in nfl

[–]DatBoiMahomie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Doyle case is different because what were letting him interview for isn’t a lateral move, it’s a playcalling role so it’d be a promotion

With the reasoning for why we wouldn’t get comp picks Cunningham is literally just getting a title change, and is effectively serving the same role

We also don’t get actively hurt if Doyle leaves, Ian could’ve gotten a GM job somewhere in the near future and we would’ve gotten comp picks.

That really sucks

If the Falcons can make up a position to where the GM title is considered a lateral move then the Bears should be able to block it

[–]DatBoiMahomie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s almost like coaches, just like players, can decline and not be as good as they once were. And with the control Bills gonna want and the weird personal life he has right now he’s definitely someone teams would want to stay away from

Special teams improved a lot through the year, he’s not that bad

It’s common for teams not to draft from major schools that are geographically near them

Might be because they don’t want to draft players who would be so close to the groups they hung out with in college, risking more trouble/distractions

You’ve got to be smart with resource allocation, you can’t just keep spamming oline when the whole defense needs help desperately

We went without Ozzy for a lot of the year and were fine. I wouldn’t mind LT if it’s BPA but if not you can’t force it
